I was wondering if Wizards is appling errata to current books that are being sold to game shops and etc.  If so, how do you know if you have the latest version of the rules with errat applied?

I'm pretty sure that books aren't printed with any errata applied (though the DM Screen has seen at least one update).

VaultDweller is right.  An updated PHB, DMG and MM would be nice. It would be a huge headache for WotC though.  You would hear HOWLS of 4.1! complaints about being "forced" to buy new books etc...

In some ways the Essentials line will do this for us without as much of a firestorm. I look forward to them.

I think they've updated the books once (unconfirmed).

The essentals will have all the updated rules.

I've seen the three core books at my local game store with different covers, labeled as being printed with the latest errata.  Didn't buy them, but they're there.

The best way they could have done it is comprehendriums. Like a Combat Rules Comprehendrium that has a large list of different rules that would come up during combat.

It has a floating print system, simiar to stratagy guides for MMOs. (I know le gasp I said a naughty word!)

The Deluxe ones. IIRC, the D&D logo in the cover is blue instead of white. But they have been done a while ago and don't have the newest Errata done after.

I think the PH, PH2 & DMG do need be updated for errata to help keep them relevent.

Do many people cut and paste the errate into their handbooks as suggested? I can't see it, myself.

Once they've done the next big bit of errata (June?), they could arrange for a release just after the essentials line.

Unfortunately I just don't see it happening

Do you know what update they got?

The ones you could obtain PDF for it. But now the Updates do include every Erratas. There was a PDF Errata document for the PHB, the DMG etc.....which on one uses anymore, having a single document regrouping them all.
