"Arena Fighing" style articles for other Power Sources?

Dec 04, 2008 11:33:42 Do you think we'll see articles that will provide the same kind of options for Arcane, Divine, Primal, and Psychic characters, as the Gladiator article provided for Martial characters? For instance, do you think that there will be a "school of magic" feat that gives Magic Missile a point or two of miss damage?

What other effects would you like to see?

Dec 09, 2008 14:56:16 I'm sure they will once the other classes of the power sources come out. They are probably saving those for the books themselves.

Dec 09, 2008 15:12:40 I've heard some speculatuion that the Domains that are to appear in Divine Power will work something like the weapon fighting styles. That is only speculation though. *shrugs*

Dec 12, 2008 12:36:36 I rather like the idea of "Schools of Magic" for arcane casters & "Divine Domains" for divine classes. Not sure what you'd call Primal ones though.

I have a feeling that when the Ki power source comes out, Martial Arts Styles will probably be done in this same style... replacing the "spend all of your feat slots to get a minor benefit" style from last edition.

Dec 13, 2008 6:28:43 In one of the Podcasts, there was talk that some of the stuff that made it into the Gladiator Article was stuff that they would have wanted to put into Martial Power had they come up with it in time. They said that the insights from that article have influenced the future power books.

But, Arcane already has the master wands, which do much the same as the Arena feats.

Indeed, and I think it might be just as well if each power source gets its own unique method for boosting the potency of at-will powers. On the other hand, I'd love to see the multi-class variant weapon mastery feat concept get adapted. I find the idea the idea of "multi-classing" into an arcane school or divine domain to be a far more appealing way of updating those old options to 4th edition.
