So is there any interest in this? I will eventually just make a home brew if rules don't come out but having a nice source book with classes made would be cool.

How many of you guys would like to see it?

I absolutely would love to see this-along with the Future and Past supplements.

Actually, I was just thinking about how it'd be playing in an American Old West style game, all Cowboys and lever action rifles and what not.  I've been re-playing Red Dead Redemption and been thinking about going back into Fallout New Vegas, both really good Westerns.  So yea, I wonder how it would turn out.

I would like very much, with a sourcebook about superheroes, but it would need a lot of playtesting. A monster can be a nighmare in a d20 past adventure but a walking bulleye and extra free XPs in d20 Future.

Well Gamma World done right (as in post-apoc gritty survival) would be a good place to start ! Lots of D&D monsters could be considered mutations.

Basically, if they're going to do this, I don't want to see a repeat of 3e.  While it was an interesting concept, the 'generic' character classes didn't really seem to fit D&D.  I'd really rather they pick a time period and a theme, and build a book around that.  So a Pulp Hero setting with a bunch of classes which fit pulp fiction, a Future Hero setting which has futuristic classes, a Cyberpunk Hero setting with cyberpunk characters, and so forth.  Hell, they could pull out the stops and make expansion books which deal with old settings:  Boot Hill, Gangbusters, Star Fronteirs, and Gamma World could all be given the 5e Treatment, and be perfectly cross-compatible.

If they really want to go for a twist, take some of our favourite campaign settings, and push them forward 600 or more years, into a more modern age, to show us how the worlds would evolve over time.  I'd love to try out a Wild West Greyhawk, or a Cyberpunk Forgotten Realms.

Not sure if you really are avoiding it or you really don't know about an actual Weird West Game which name starts with "Dead" and ends with "Lands"...which have both versions: The Old West setting and the Wasteland Mutaded Future called Hell on Earth

I have the D20 -3rd edition version of the Weird West, and I think they also made a Hell on Earth version. But that was with the old OGL.

I suppose that stuff can easily be converted to D&D 5ed with the alternate weapons/world creation that come in the new 5ed DMG.

If they choose to do this, I really hope they don’t use names like strong hero, fast hero, etc. I hope they use names like [Put your class name here] instead. I hate it when 3rd parties would use those names. It really kills the immersion and does not inspire.

I really want a D20 Modern.

I tend to play RPGs with new players more often than not. I don't like to start players off on DnD because most of my players are not interested in fantasy--at least, they don't think they are. Instead, I start them with World of Darkness, and gradually move into DnD for those that really enjoy the experience.
