Apr 13, 2009 10:08:18 For those who want to see a new d20 Modern forum, there is a new what sort of d20 Modern game would you like poll in the d20 Modern forums (it included the "none of the above" and "3.5 edition" in order to accommodate some forum members who complained). So, if you are interested in seeing a 4e Modern game, please come out and vote at this link here!

Apr 28, 2009 15:34:51 I think that a 4th edition version of a Modern game would be very interesting.

One thing I did not like from the D20 Modern version was that the power level differed from one campaign world to the next. I would have much preferred something where I could mix & match whatever I wanted to create my own world.

Another thing that a 4th Edition version would help with is character concepts. I found that some people had trouble with having classes based on each stats and then having to take multiple "prestige classes" to get to the concept they had in their mind.

If you are a former Modern D20 GM or player you can now VOTE on the shape the game will take for its 2.0 version.

One can always count on someone seeing the negative side of any initiative... *shrugs*

Any poll is subject to manipulation. That's why the term «margin of error» exists. Its simply higher for forum polls. Also, tempering is less likely to have an effect if people vote in numbers...:P

Margin of error is a confidence interval that allows one to estimate a population-level parameter from a sample statistic. That margin of error is calculated assuming a truly random sample with no selection bias. If the sample is not representative then your estimator is biased and the margin of error is a useless measure.

That said, I'd be happy to d&d modern 4e.

I had a real tough time deciding between 4e and a mix of 4e and saga. Part of me thinks some of saga's stuff is nice but other parts of me would love to be able to just take my 4e classes and use them in the urban arcana setting as is instead of needing other versions of them.

Regardless of the version I really hope to see an updated modern system. I think Future was one of the books I was most excited about only to be the most disappointed in it. I would love to see another attempt at that as well. Liking the starfighter games I was thinking a modern version that allowed saga stuff to port over easy would be nice. However saga is still alot like version 3.9 and I think many have come to like the class structure and flexibility of 4e.
