| #1DragonsWrathJun 07, 2009 21:45:51 | I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the latest CharBuilder update has included some previews from Adventurer's Vault 2, specifically tattoos. | #2NivedJun 07, 2009 21:54:01 | Nice catch! I never look at the wonderous items, maybe I should, anything else hidden away in there? |
| #3darthruJun 07, 2009 22:09:45 | Those were actually included in a playtest article back in Dragon 370. |
| #4DragonsWrathJun 07, 2009 22:14:59 | [edit] Oh, darn. Oh well, news to me! I didn't have DDI back then. :/ Not that I've noticed. I only saw these by chance, when I was looking up a bag of holding. Once I noticed this, however, I checked the Campaign Settings options, which lists Eberron Player's Guide as well. There may be some other Easter Eggs hidden somewhere.... I wonder if this was an accident, or a clever sneak peak. The tattoos don't have any rules descriptions, but presumably you buy them and get a tattoo. Most of them give a minor bonus under speciffic conditions. I think the idea of counting the number of Healing Surges you have used is quite ingenious. I'd like to get some of those for my Fighter! ^_^ |
| #5Dragon9Jun 07, 2009 22:19:44 | Yeah, DarthRu has it right. Those have actually been in the CB almost half a year now. ![]() |

| #7doctorhookJun 07, 2009 23:38:04 | Since we've established that these are the item that appeared in Dragon Magazine, it's worth pointing out that these items are playtest items, not previews, and that they are therefore subject to change. I'd tell you to report any feedback you'd like to make, but at this point it's likely too late; that said, feedback always helps, so I don't think you should feel bad if you wanna send it in anyway. |
| #8alien270Jun 09, 2009 18:03:53 | http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4pr/20090605 "Chapter 1: Magic Items: This chapter focuses on superior implements, a new type of masterwork item to give implement users more options, and magic items, the favorite equipment of PCs. New items include ammunition, wondrous tattoos and lairs, and consumable immurements." Sorry if this is old news to people, but it's such a tiny piece of text that I figured it may have been overlooked. I wonder what these superior implements will be like? I'm excited, it seems like casters will be brought a bit more on par with the weapon using classes! |
| #9Dragon9Jun 09, 2009 19:08:55 | Not sure what you mean by on par with weapon using classes. From the description the superior implements will give casters more options. When I hear people say what you say it seems like they're expecting proficiency bonuses. They don't need it them anyway since they are attackign non-AC defenses anyway. |
