| #1londoncallingJun 25, 2009 5:18:52 | Will there be any more Realms adventures? just about to put party through Scepter tower and as i dont have time to create anything after, any plans on more printed or dungeon adventures to carry on?? |
| #2romtosJun 25, 2009 5:44:58 | I wonder the same thing, but then for Eberron. And will there be more splatbooks after the Player's Guide en the Campaign Setting (both Eberron and Forgotten Realms)? |
| #3ranadielJun 25, 2009 5:48:29 | There is currently a three book policy regarding campaign settings limiting them to only having a campaign guide, player's guide, and a single adventure. As such there are presently no plans for another FR adventure atm. I am presently unaware of any FR adventures in Dungeon. I believe that they have said that both Eberron and FR will have at least one article between Dragon and Dungeon every month from now on, but to date I can only really recall articles in Dragon. As such, I wouldn't count on Dungeon for frequent FR adventures. The closest I can imagine yu being able to do would be to run some of the other adventures and just set them in FR(I don't know how much time that would actually take). Edit: I wonder the same thing, but then for Eberron. And will there be more splatbooks after the Player's Guide en the Campaign Setting (both Eberron and Forgotten Realms)? At present it appears no. Additional info on both settings will be provided through issues of Dragon and Dungeon however. |
| #4romtosJun 25, 2009 6:25:54 | Awww shucks. What a stupid idea. All the info will be very chunky. Better get my 3.5 Eberron complete. |
| #5christopher_roweJun 25, 2009 9:32:31 | There's been some Realms material in Dungeon (see below for details): two adaptations, one Delve style piece highlighting an encounter from one of the novels, and one full-on adventure. And of course, if you're interested in mixing some RPGA homeplay into your campaign, you can access around eighty (so far) Realms modules through their free Living Forgotten Realms campaign. Cheers, Christopher ----

I guess this demonstrates the fact that I don't read Dungeon at all.:embarrass |
| #8Silver_BlazeJun 26, 2009 11:47:38 | Awww shucks. What a stupid idea. Hardly, rather than have the eleventy billion unsold supplements from 3.5e, they can push non-setting specific stuff to build on the settings, then tell us how those things fit into a certain setting in Dungeon and Dragon. |
| #9romtosJun 27, 2009 5:58:39 | Hardly, rather than have the eleventy billion unsold supplements from 3.5e, they can push non-setting specific stuff to build on the settings, then tell us how those things fit into a certain setting in Dungeon and Dragon. But Eberron specific material wouldn't be published. A sourcebook on the planes and/or the moons was high on my want list. ![]() |
| #10Vilnias_NastavnikJun 27, 2009 10:23:47 | But Eberron specific material wouldn't be published. I'd look for that info in Manual of the Planes 2. |
| #11Silver_BlazeJun 27, 2009 10:31:27 | But Eberron specific material wouldn't be published. They can release Eberron specific stuff in Dragon and Dungeon. Stuff like that is almost guaranteed to end up in Dragon or Dungeon annual. Not to mention, why the heck would you need a sourcebook on the moons? Less than 5% of Eberron fans would use it, and an even more miniscule number of other DMs would find any use out of it. The goal of this edition is universality. |
| #12PinkRoseJun 27, 2009 10:58:14 | Any of the adventures in Dungeon could be used in FR. Change the name of the Gods, and say the city name is an alternate name that the locals use and that's it. |
| #13superdeadsmurfJun 27, 2009 11:04:38 | My guess is we'll end up seeing a 'large' FR megadventure before the end of the next year. 200+ page hardcover, for about 10 levels of play or so. Then we'll see an Eberron one the year after that. It would be cool if they came with a small (32 page) booklet of extra setting crunch for players along with the adventures too. My reasoning is thus - adventures can, for the most part, be stripped of the setting easily, so its not hard to sell them to people who haven't fully bought into a campaign setting. Unlike something like "magic of eberron" or somesuch, where only people who have drank that kool-aid will buy. |

Or, they could just do what they are already doing, and release non-setting specific adventure and tell us how to run it in Faerun or Khorvaire, just like they have done with every other adventure. I would much rather have them do it that way. |
| #15NyarlathotepJun 27, 2009 16:13:13 | As was mentioned before, they have stated a three book per setting rule. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't start putting "here's how to adapt this adventure to FR/Ebberon/Whatever" sections in future published adventures. |

The goal of this edition is universality. Because the moons are kept a mystery. But as I mentioned, this might very well be combined with the planes. It would surely provide enough material for a book like the ones on the continents and be quite useful. We know little about the planes now. But, I was just giving an example. I would love to see a book similar to the Forge of War history section, including the War of the Mark. |

They could release this content via DDI... ![]() |
| #18AcrilosJun 29, 2009 6:52:32 | It doesn't take very much time to design an adventure. I'm mastering a D&D campaign in the FR (Impiltur region) and have designed one adventure per level so far (the characters of my group of players are level 8 at the moment). We play this campaign an average of two or three times per months. The great thing with designing your own adventure is that you know it perfectly and can adapt on the fly if need be. Official adventures are great too but you will often meet players who have read about them or played them with another group of players. A personnaly designed adventure is 100% surprise for the players ![]() Designing adventures in 4ED is quicker than before, especially with the monster experience budget thing. Its really awesome and save some time. But I like desiging monsters and NPCs for my adventures. And the hardest is to try to be innovative about the powers of monsters. I try to make them stick to the atmosphere of the campaign. When I take time to design an adventure is when I write down the description of everything to read to the players when the right time comes. But I do not do that often due to the lack of time. |
| #1922_Over_7Jul 01, 2009 0:17:51 | Still, I don't think it's unreasonable to wish for a new adventure in a campaign setting - maybe one per tier? 3 modules doesn't sound excessive. |
