Arcane Power - Will it have Spellplague?

Dec 15, 2008 9:25:28 Anyone know if the new Arcane Power book to come out Spring '09 will have anything for Spellplague characters? I'm hoping it can get some more goodies as it seems kinda cool, but underdeveloped right now.

Dec 15, 2008 9:40:10 Seems unlikely to me. The PHBs are largely setting-neutral, whereas the spellplague is pretty specifically an FR thing.

Dec 15, 2008 13:41:59 I would have to vote No on this one. The Spellplague is Forgotten Realms specific and the core books coming out are setting neutral.

Besides that, they have made specific references to the five classes that will be in Arcane Power. There was no mention of Spellplagued in there, so at the very least it will be a suprise appearance if it does appear.

Well HOW the spellplague hit FR is setting specific but the concept of the spellplague/spellscarred isn't really setting specific. The spellscarred are a lot like the spellfire wielders of pre 4e FR and can easily be put in another setting. We may see something and if we do it'll be a sign that WotC sees the FRPG and some of the features in there not so much a campaign-specific resource but a campaign flavored resource with lots of core/portable player features.

But we already know that they are including a chpater in Arcane Power on the Swordmage. I think that is plenty of proof that they aren't viewing FRPG as a completely isolated product.(plus Genasi and Drow got new options in Martial Power)
