This is the reason I NEVER buy my books through Amazon anymore.

My PH2 came over a week late.  I'm not letting that happen again.

With discounts for buying textbooks from the local bookstore, D&D books are almost as cheap there as thorugh Amazon anyways.

It's like they don't realise even after the flood of orders they get each time. THEY NEED TO ORDER MORE F*CKING STOCK.

I get a student discount at amazon, and ebcaus eof this have been unable to get any of the books released this year, luckily I have DDI, but I miss flciking through a book.

I wonder why this is.  I live int he US and Amazon has had no problems with the 4e books except for the 1st core set which had so many preorders they had a hard time keepign up with it.  Since then I have received every book I preordered on release day.

If the US store can do that, I wonder why the UK one has so many problems.

Not only the UK ones. My EPG actually delayed by a whole month (and I doubt there were so many people ordering it), so I cancelled it right away and got it in my nearest Store... that's about 60 km. There seems to be a problem either with shipping into the EU (might be Europe as a whole) or Amazon being dumb as **** and not ordering enough. Probably both.

Edit: Back in May I tried to order the PHB 2 at Amazon germany. Well, they didn't have it and I couldn't even order it so I'd get it when they had it in stock. Got it along with the EPG about 2 Months later.

Amazon UK does seem to send out that delay of stock email quite frequently, I'd estimate for about 1 in 3 4th Ed books I've ordered.

It's really annoying when you've pre-ordered months in advance. Yell

However, give it 3 days and they magically seem to find the stock and despatch it. So much so, I've almost stopped paying attention to that e-mail.

If they haven't sent it after a week after the expected release date, I complain direct to the customer service department.

If enough of us complain, they'll probably pay attention because it will appear on their KPI's. (Key Performance Indicators to those of us working in Dilbert world).

Because I do need to mail order, If it takes too long, I cancel and often re-order from one of their 3rd party suppliers. Hasn't happened for a while.
