On that note I think it's worth mentioning that Whil Wheaton wasn't taking advantage of oath of emnity, he didn't use the reroll!!! Also worth noting the guy playing the dwarf fighter forgot about making attacks against marked targets that shift, listening to that podcast got painful at times for me. I can't believe their DM failed to remind them of that kind of stuff.
The avenger is clearly too awesom for the internet and would destroy it with it's divine fury.

Heh, it's not the DM's job to remind them of what their characters can do--players need to keep track of their own abilities.
At least, that's the case with experienced players. Since it was pretty obvious that the players weren't experienced, then yes, the DM probably should have pointed out the things they were missing.

I can see that a DM wouldn't want to play the other peoples character for them, which is what stops me from telling everyone in my group that I've memorized their abilities and come up with many many tactics.

If you know the rules backwards and forwards you might get a little frustrated with us during these podcasts. Sometimes we don't roll the right dice, sometimes we go off on tangents trying to crack each other up, and sometimes we don't remember to play each ability exactly the way it's spelled out in the book. That's okay though, because for the eight straight hours it took us to record the entire thing, we had ablast.

All we have are the first two pages of the class, which is just the fluff and the features without any powers, and the 1st level half-orc avenger character sheet from DDXP. They should be enough to play an avenger at 1st level.

Regardless of how many or few mistakes are made by my group or myself, I haven't even seen the PHBII and the thought occurred to me that Avengers have some kind of reroll mechanic. If I had an Avenger at my table miss several times in a row, I'd ask him to double check how exactly it worked.
One thought that occurred to me after my first post was I couldn't recall if the one he was attacking was the one he'd marked, which I assume would have some bearing on the rerolls. If that's the case then it's no wonder why no one bothered to mention it.
Either way, you're always welcome in my games. You can never have enough sarcasm.
