| #1dragvandil13Nov 03, 2011 13:18:35 | Sadly we havnt gotten a preview or real teaser for this subclass yet except wizards promising us that it'll be a dual role Defender by Day Striker by rage. Oh wait, yes we have, it's just not as flashy as we would like or as delivered to us... wizards.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/... After looking at it closely I think it's safe to say a few things about the Berserker. He will be getting a completely different rage option He will have a defender aura And most of his new daily powers will most likely be stances. All of the new Berserker powers are going to be AEDU format so at the very least, we will be gaining some new powers.... maybe finally getting a multi-strike power for Heroic tier.... it's a pain having to wait till Paragon tier for our multi-attack powers when Rangers get them out the door.... ^ ^ (O)_(O) > < On the pure speculation front, I imagine that we are going to be getting a 3.5ish rage option, and I can only hope that Frenzied berserker gets an update to remove that horrible bane of all of our Striker ambitions, Warpath. Since the new roll is Striker/Defender, I predict that our new paragon path either follows suit, or that we get a few choices with a completely striker paragon, a completely tank paragon, and a paragon that benefits both well. At any rate, speculation is fun and will kill the time till November 15th when I'll be linking you all to a forum in Strikers to talk a bit about the new features and maybe show case some of the jucier powers. That way you can have a good idea of what this sub class is all about without having to go to the bookstore even. |

| #4IxidorRSNov 03, 2011 15:09:16 | Ixidor, you are my new best friend. Oh, well in that case ... buy me a beer? Seriously though, I think this might be my first defender build. I've built a couple of fighters and some hybrids that I haven't played, but this is the first time I've been truly interested in playing a defender. |
| #5dragvandil13Nov 03, 2011 16:01:51 | Same here. I built a fighter back before PHB2 was out, but that campaign never picked up. My first char was a barb with PHB2 still freshly printed. Since then I have stuck in striker waters, if I ever want to try a hand at control I'll run Druid, and if I want to try leader Warlord or Shaman. The Barb might be now grabbing the defender slot as well for me. The new build appears to live up to my expectations and its striker Mechanic is very nice. |
| #6robertread3Nov 03, 2011 19:29:40 | i got the heroes of the feywild book 3 hours ago (i have a priority store in my area) !!!!! the breserker is friggen awsome. with 18 dex and unarmored agility it is possible to have 22 AC while BUTT NAKED (or in cloth) it has a full complement of AEDU barbarian powers you have defender aura, your punishment is an MBA+1d8 (per teir) as soon as you use a barbarian primal power you lose your defender aura and go into a rage where the books at wills get +1d8 damage (per teir) the dailies are high dice, but since you can take barbarian dailies with rages they are trap options. the encounter powers are pretty great. here is the short list.... weapons: simple and military melee. armor: cloth, leather, hide and light sheild hp: 15+con surges: 8+con skills: 3 from the barbarian list |
| #7IxidorRSNov 03, 2011 20:50:28 | Is it punishment only on attacks against allies other than you? |
| #8Neutronium_DragonNov 03, 2011 21:19:24 | You are not your own ally, so yes. It triggers on the typical "attack against an ally that does not include you" condition. It also triggers on a shift. |

| #10IxidorRSNov 03, 2011 22:26:35 | There's a bit of extra info in the other thread. There's a THP feat, and a Utility that grants THP while defending and a reroll on next attack when striking. Also some explanation of how you can poach some of the old barbarian powers to rage and fury at the same time. Sounds like lots of fun is to be had. |
