I was hoping that Arcane Power would have some necromancy options published... but unfortunately there does not seem to be any such luck. It would be great if you could put some such options into some sort of splat book (for all arcane classes). |

| #3darkothedarkgodApr 24, 2009 22:57:09 | I'd like to see some more for the wizard, though. Not necessarily completely usurping the Necromancer, but maybe one animation power per tier. Please? |

| #9Cyber-DaveApr 25, 2009 16:34:36 | Patience, young Dave! Shadow Power source... but you already knew that. Gah. But I really like the way they did the Arcane and Divine Necromancy powers! I just sort of think its lame that Necromancy is going to be a different power source. I don't really see a reason why it should not just be Arcane and Divine. Secrets of the City Entombed already proved that such powers fit very well within Arcane and Divine classes. |
| #10Janx_14Apr 25, 2009 17:00:53 | You know, just about anything fits so well into Arcane and Divine because they are so undefined, especially Arcane. |
| #11Lord_VentnorApr 25, 2009 17:19:58 | I say, take Wizard powers and reflavor them! I did so even before Arcane Power... And with Arcane Power, you now have undead minions that you can command via summoning powers. To help add to it, only use those summoning powers after an enemy in combat has dropped, as say that you're reanimating his corpse, and modifying it with whatever magic you please. |
| #12doctorhookApr 25, 2009 18:18:42 | Gah. But I really like the way they did the Arcane and Divine Necromancy powers! It's like Janx said: everything can fit within them, and breaking-up these metathemes into more manageable chunks is one of 4E's goals. Really, what will the Shadow power source be, if not "magical"? What about the Elemental power source? Ki? Even Primal and Psionic might fit into Arcane and Divine, with the right spin. The problem is that that approach is very lopsided, and doesn't give other class-concepts a chance to shine. |
| #13casual-observerApr 27, 2009 8:49:42 | I loves me some necromancy, too. Grasp of the Grave and Animate Dead are must haves for my wizzies spellbook. I'm not sure we need an entire book dedicated to the art, though. I think a nice chunky Dragon article with some more necromantic spells ( say, a dozen, or so ) would be adequate. On the other hand, there will likely be an Arcane Power 2, which may give us some more necromantic goodness. |
