| #1pamelaAug 14, 2010 4:59:39 | Is there any intention on selling the Castle Ravenloft game in the UK? It's not available on Amazon over here which really surprised me. |
| #2MarkAtkinsonAug 14, 2010 5:44:26 | I noticed this too. It's not only Amazon UK even the stores like Orcs Nest in London and Gamers Guild don't list it for Pre-order. In fact the ONLY UK sources I could find on Google was The Geekest Link and Games Lore and these have disclaimers that say release dates and prices are TBC. I know the UK/European market is tiny when compared to the US but still..... |
| #3DuskweaverAug 15, 2010 3:57:20 | The same applies to Wrath of Ashardalon, BTW. It's there on Amazon.com, but nowhere to be seen on Amazon.co.uk. |
| #4GazraAug 15, 2010 5:06:05 | Maybe it's karma for you guys getting the last D&D boardgame when we didn't. ;) Seriously, though: I hope you get it because it looks like the best thing since HeroQuest. ![]() |
| #5pamelaAug 15, 2010 5:26:04 | Maybe it's karma for you guys getting the last D&D boardgame when we didn't. ;) But that wasn't my fault! ![]() That's right, Gazra, rub it in about how good it is.... ;) I'm sure it's just a matter of time but it might be nice to get it before Christmas; I'm considering it for my husband for that or his birthday (October). |
| #6GazraAug 15, 2010 6:16:50 | I'm sure there are plenty of other places selling it that will ship it overseas. I know a whole lot of places pre-ordered it from Amazon back when they were selling it for $40. Those sites are reselling it for $45-$55 bucks. Check out eBay too. Actually, I just looked it up on Troll and Toad and they are selling it for $39.99 plus shipping, and they ship anywhere in the world. I don't know what the shipping cost would be, but I'm sure it's not more than the 25 bucks you'll save buying it there. I used to buy magic cards and D&D minis from that site all the time and I've never had any kind of problem with them. www.trollandtoad.com/p289758.html EDIT: They have a shipping calculator on the site. Fed-EX International shipping costs between 28-30 bucks for the item according to whether you select 'economy' or 'priority'. I think priority would be worth two more dollars. So you could get the game for 70 bucks, which is probably the same you would get it from AmazonUK after shipping. |
| #7pamelaAug 15, 2010 6:26:55 | Thanks for the link, Gazra. I will keep it in mind but I'm also going to send off an email to the D&D UK person who has replaced Charles Ryan and see if they can give us any word on it. If I get an answer, I'll be sure to post it here. |
| #8zephyrstormAug 15, 2010 16:05:06 | try London-based Leisure games on the ol' internet. They're getting stock and selling it for £43 or thereabouts + postage ![]() |
| #9wulfgarsAug 16, 2010 9:16:14 | You can order also from Book Depository , wich is based in the UK , and it´s selling with a big discount , plus it´s shipping free worlwide.... |
| #10pamelaAug 16, 2010 13:15:01 | Thank you wulfgars; I've now pre-ordered it for my husband! |
| #11PobmanAug 17, 2010 10:34:55 | While it is obvious form the posts in this thread that it is going to be available in the UK, there is a new blog post on the D&D UK group confirming an August 31st release date for it: community.wizards.com/dnduk/blog/2010/08... Just thought I'd share. ![]() |
| #12pamelaAug 17, 2010 12:54:57 | Thanks Pobman! However it's STILL not available on Amazon in the UK. |
| #13Intruder314Aug 17, 2010 15:22:24 | Bah, Book Depository now simply lists this as "Out of Stock". |
| #14Intruder314Sep 16, 2010 10:29:56 | Well I had to wait ages but it was worth hanging on: Book Depository finally has new stock of Castle Ravenloft and 30 mins ago when I ordered mine it was £33.23 and free worldwide delivery. I've been checking them and other sights daily since launch and prior to this the lowest price I saw was £45. |
