| #1sythspawnMay 12, 2011 8:31:15 | I saw this in one of my e-newsletters.
Was this one of the cancelled books, and TFAW never got the memo? |
| #2Obvious_NinjaMay 12, 2011 8:35:46 | Yep, canceled. The good news is, all of the information in the book is coming out in DDI. THe update for the Fighter is out and the Cleric info should be out any day. Also, of course the Themes are coming this month as well... |
| #3MarandahirMay 12, 2011 9:21:20 | Update to Fighter and Cleric, actually, belong to a different cancelled book, Class Compendium. This book had Themes, Backgrounds, Professions, Relics, Rituals, Familiars, and Adventuring Companies. That TFAW preview, however, reminded me of some of the things that we'll be seeing in Dragon in the coming months. Besides the Themes from the book, we'll see: Professions – like Blacksmith. Backgrounds – like Hill Dwarf and Wood Elf. A new take on rituals is on it's way: and the mention of Rituals in the new write-up of the Alchemist feat means they haven't completely abandoned Rituals, meaning we'll see that soon. And I had forgotten about Relics and Adventuring Companies. Relics sound really cool, and would help with divine play a lot. That's what a lot of medieval Christian quests were about, after all. Going to find Saint's Relics and such. While converting it to D&D Polytheism, it's an archetypal part of the divine story. And new familiars is always a good thing. Backgrounds for subraces like Hill Dwarf and Wood Elf makes more sense than the exclusive feats we saw in Forgotten Realms. |

| #5robertread3May 15, 2011 11:36:23 | yeah i think it was canceled, but a series of books like champions of the heroic/paragon/epic teir probably would of been a good sell, however if it has class updates insted of new options, then it would of been a disapointment thats for errata and errata should be free. im pretty sure this was the basis of witch they canceled the book. |
| #6hattaMay 15, 2011 12:05:46 | Yes, it was canceled. But I think it was just because they didn't think it was good enough for print. |
