Feb 10, 2009 12:42:42 I don't play table top mini's, but I do like to use them in my game. I would be nice if Wizards made a set focused for people like me. It would be broken down by basic race...

Set 1. Dragonborn; one of each class.
Set 2. Elandrin; one of each class.
Set 3. Dwarf; one of each class.
Set 4. Human; one of each class.
ect...
Perhaps give each Cleric and Paladin a shield with little stickers of each deity.

What do you think the odds are Wizards would consider another way of making money.

Feb 10, 2009 14:51:37 They are shifting their focus with the minis products to be RPG-centric. The (instert book title here) Heroes series is coming out later this year. They are packs with various (but not random) races and classes, grouped by power source.

I think we are unlikely to see anything different for the near future until they see how these play out. I also think a single-race all classes (and both sexes) pack is not going to happen as it will be a higher cost to get one figure that you really want.

What I really would like is to have individual packs for these so that we could really have a choice to buy just what we wanted. If they were "rare-quality" (as the Heroes packs are supposed to be), it would be worth it. Get away from the whole collectible aspect. I think this is where it is headed, and I am sure we have not seen the last iteration of the marketing of minis.

Feb 10, 2009 15:55:11 I like the idea of singles even better. My thought behind the whole pack was that I, as the DM and having to supply the figures for the players, would be buying it.

I now see what you mean as the DM buying them, and I would most likely do the same if they were offered in that fashion.

However, I think the rationale for singles would be that everyone would buy them as opposed to just DMs buying for the group. Plus, even if the DM bought them, you always have the possibility that you have two of the same PCs and only one mini. I have my minis now that I let the group use (a couple hundred of which are PC-acceptable), but if they do not find one they like, they can always go buy one. I have only had one person buy one because they could not find one good enough
