There's enough support to make the assumptions of classes for the Psionic power source from various material and past editions. However, Shadow has been introduced as a power source in a paragon path for Warlords. There's also mention of Elemental. With the removal of Ki, I'm finding difficulty how to fit any new classes into the power source universe of D&D that could sufficiently fill a power source, especially since other proposed classes that could have filled those power sources seem to have overlap with many existing classes:
- Shadow/Elemental/Ki
- Defender: Hexblade (Necrotic Swordmage powers from multiple sources)
- Leader: Necromancer (Summoning/Conjuration is part of Wizards in Arcane Power)
- Striker: Ninja (Rogue/Monk or Rogue/Sorcerer or Monk/Sorcerer)
- Controller: Illusionist (taken over by Wizards in Arcane Power)
- Defender: Samurai (Tempest Fighter or Kensai)
- Leader: Shugenja (Artificer/Bard has enough elemental goodies)
- Striker/Controller: Wu Jen (Not too different than an eastern themed Sorcerer)
