Core Deluxe Editions - w/ Errata Updates

Jul 16, 2008 18:56:53 Will the Core Deluxe Editions being released in October include the updates reflected in the errata?

To be clear, I don't mean "print offs of the errata will be stuck in the cover". I mean "They will be re-typeset to include errata up to version X".

Or will they be the same books with new covers?

Actaully they did. Or at least the leather bound PHB did. The only reason it wasn't up to date at the end is because they had to make several more changes after they released the book. just compare the orginal Wild shape text to the Leather bound and then to the Rules compendium. All three are different.

You beat me too it Larry. My Leather versions did.

I'm not buying this new Core Deluxe Editions unless they have current Errata up to today's date. THERE is time to get the Errata in. The new DC table along with the other things. Come on WOTC, why would we buy these Deluxe books otherwise?? I bought my 3.5 Leather bound books cuz of the Errata.

Jul 22, 2008 16:24:19 There's been mention that the official PDF versions will be updated with errata at some point, and those that bought the PDFs will have their downloads "reactivated" so that they can get the updated PDFs.

So, that in mind, It seems likely that the leather-bound editions will include errata. Here's hoping we hear an official response though.

Jul 22, 2008 16:42:51 So it wasn't a printing flaw after all. Turns out the books were designed so you could wipe the ink off and write in errata!

Hm... that there is nothing official now may indicate that the errata will not be incorporated in the Deluxe books...

Jul 29, 2008 13:21:34 Yeah, as the one who started this thread, I have to say that 2 weeks going by without any sort of definitive, official reply tells me that either a) no one "official" is paying attention to a customer's inquiry, b) no one "official" cares, c) no one "official" feels like sticking their neck out and saying something like "Nope, will not include updates. Printed last month, sitting in a warehouse, looks just like the regular first editions but pricier with a nicer cover."

It was a pretty straightforward question. The fact that there's no answer probably speaks volumes.

It speaks volumes to the fact that nobody from WotC really posts here. In Future Releases, I can only think of one post by a WotC employee, and that was Gamer Zero posting a link to a video in a thread dedicated to another video he posted. If you want an answer try emailing them, I don't know if there is any chance of getting an answer, but it is better then the non-existent chance here.

They have listened and they have acted. Their only problem is their abysmal commincation, which, however, has improved a lot. But of course we always want to have more ;)
