The website is http://www.ultimatereality.ca pretty cool…it will be interesting to see the finished product. I can't wait for the 5E to come out...i dont like the 4E! ha ha |

The website is http://www.ultimatereality.ca pretty cool…it will be interesting to see the finished product. I can't wait for the 5E to come out...i dont like the 4E! ha ha If you want to shill effectively you really shouldn't insult the game people on this forum devote a lot of their time to. ![]() Anyway, I took a look at the site and it pretty much sucked. The first page made it sound like a LARP, but then I clicked on and found another page that was seemingly talking about computers. ![]() It was impossible to make out what the technology was actually supposed to do, since the prose was so vague. There were also some pages with artwork ripped off from other sources. Overall impression: meh. Get back to me in a year or two when you've figured out what you're doing. :P |

| #5GMforPowergamersJun 10, 2009 10:49:45 | what is it...is it an mmorpg or is it a game table with mmorpg type of things, or is it a larp, what is it I just don't get it... |
| #6trobonJun 10, 2009 11:01:00 | It seems like the basic idea is the evolution of the LARP using the new GPS-enabled devices like the iPhone. There are games that are kind of like this already, but on a much smaller level than what the website is implying. Basically the idea is that all of your character's data would be stored on your mobile device which would also be able to detect other people playing the game. When you fought you would more likely determine your results automatically based on all the variables (like terrain or the opponent). This is the idea that I got from the website at least. In my opinion, it seems like it is unnecessary and most likely won't take off very far. On the one hand it won't appeal to LARPers who may want some manner of control in their hands and on the other hand it may not appear to RPers who already do all of this without the need to pay, go someplace or dress up. |
