I figure this would be an easy product to put out (since it's essentially re-printing existing material), and give those of us who don't participate in Encounters (because we are already running games) a chance not only to see what's going on, but also for a chance at more maps and encounters we could shuffle into our home games. A nice boxed set or something with all the maps and handouts and stuff, playable right away, just like encounters is played in the store, but at home. Maybe keep 2-3 seasons behind the actual Encounters so that people going to the store have first crack at the 'new' stuff. I'd buy it. |

Dont expect to see them anytime soon or ever for that matter. Your best bet to find them is to lay out the dough and purchase them from people on EBAY. |

The contracts usually are set up to buy the work wholly. I would think that they (WotC) would give out these old Encounters Sessions as a few easy PDF articles for Dungeon Magazine. |
| #5MarandahirMay 12, 2011 0:08:12 | I would definitely shell out money for Encounters outside of Encounters Play. After all, I haven't been able to attend any Encounters because the closest location is over an hour away. >_< Rural Maine. Or, I would be very pleasantly surprised to recieve Encounters in Dungeon magazine, since I have already shelled out money for that and thus would feel like I'm paying less for them. |
| #6Great_ZamboniMay 12, 2011 3:05:34 | The objection that I usually hear raised to Encounters materials being rereleased is that access to these exclusive materials is one of the incentives to GM a season of Encounters, and making them generally available would reduce the number of people agreeing to GM. That said, I would imagine that releasing the materials for an Encounters season after another season or so has gone by would satisfy both parties - the GMs would be GMing for early access to the material, a year or two before anyone else can get it. Alternately, the Encounters materials could be released as pdfs in Dungeon or somesuch, so the GMs would be GMing for access to hardcopies of the booklet, maps, etc. Heck, I'd be happy if WotC did both - released the season's material as a pdf a year later. |
| #7Obvious_NinjaMay 12, 2011 8:40:03 | Yeah, that's what I meant. That the PDF's should be released a year later as PDF's in DDI... |
| #8WarrenCMay 13, 2011 11:42:29 | PDFs of the adventures would be great. One thing I would like in hard copy though is the maps. I have dungeon tiles, but it's much easier/more satisfying to me to be able to use the poster sized maps. They are by far the best part of any published adventure, and get a lot of re-use. |
