Aug 06, 2008 10:03:57 It might. We don't know for sure right now. If it does the earliest it could be would be 2010. However, as I recall, there was a very short article in Dragon about hazards in Dark Sun. I would take that as a very good sign, that there is some Dark Sun love at the WotC offices.

The way I see it, the market needs a few more non european-esque medieval setting of which there is a glut of, namely Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Ravenloft and, as much as I love the setting, I'm going to include Eberron in it as well. These settings have far more in common than they do have differences. Dark Sun is a very different world than these in my opinion, and offers a refreshing change of pace for the game.

I think WotC knows some fans want the return of the setting, but I´m afraid we will not see it until 2011. (Dragonlance will be published in 2010).

Aug 10, 2008 12:11:06 I wouldn't expect Dark Sun to make an appearance before we see some psionic classes. Unlike Eberron, psionics is such an integral part of Dark Sun that I don't see how they could make the setting without psionics being available. But I definitely can see this being a future setting after Forgotten Realms and Eberron.

Speaking of desert setting, Al-Qadim might also be interesting. Actually, I mainly want to see a Sha'ir stated up in 4E. Who needs a spellbook when you can go get your genie fetch whatever spell you want?
