DDE and existing builds

Apr 10, 2010 12:20:44		Unlike many here, I'm looking forward to D&D Essentials because I think it sort of will be 4.25 or whatever... I never bought into standard 4E (I tried it early but didn't enjoy it... but as I've been looking back over the starter materials I think it was actually just an uninspired DM and not the game itself that put me off) and so I would like the opportunity to buy a more polished version of the 4E rules.

What I wonder is whether the "Heroes of the adjective place" books will include updated versions of all the current powers/feats/etc. in addition to new material, or if certain builds will be left behind in 4.0 land?

Apr 10, 2010 13:01:19 		My understanding is that there will be a bare minimum of updated material and the majority of it will be new. Dunno how accurate that actually is.

Essentials is still 4.0, its 4.0, just with errata and new builds. Old builds should be fully compatible, because its still the same game.

Essentials is done an over with early next year I think.
