| #1tbok1992Dec 01, 2011 16:06:03 | So, since the period for submitting DDi articles is over for this year, why don't we talk about what articles we submitted, say which one of our fellows' articles we like and which ones we think will get picked up. I'm not sure whether this is technically allowed, so I'm not gonna post mine until I find out. But, after that, let's talk about our submissions. |
| #2HippolyteDec 01, 2011 16:11:03 | Can we talk about the half-written articles we dreamed of submitting? That is as far as I got. Alas. Some day I want to submit an article about the Friar, a staff wielding, Friar Tuck Avenger build. |
| #3ZelkonDec 01, 2011 16:13:05 | I submited a 10th lv adventure about gaining your paragon path, and it took place in the elemental chaos. Not revealing anything else untill wizards says its alright to post this stuff. |
| #4ShroomyDec 01, 2011 22:24:33 | WotC clarified on Twitter that the 60 day period actually applies to the end of the submission window, so expect responses between now and January 29th. Also, and I can't stress this enough, as a freelancer you need to be very patient. FYI, you also shouldn't post about your pending submissions just in case they are picked up. Freelancers do have to sign an NDA. |

WotC also has no reason to "steal" ideas, since it would be cheaper to just have the Freelancer with the idea write the idea for them, rather than having to get one of their in-house folks, or someone with bigger credentials - who will be paid more. Nobody should be posting their submissions unless they get a rejection notice AND they never intend to try again. And much appreciated on the time window clarification, Shroomy. |
| #6Chiba_MonkeyDec 02, 2011 2:14:05 | Can we talk about the half-written articles we dreamed of submitting? That is as far as I got. Alas. I we can, I had some ideas regarding a new Monk school, one that was DEX and CHA based, focused on feints, deception, and gaining CA. There would be backstory regarding how the drow used this style extensively, and more about how halflings have a very similar style. Also, I would have liked to write another Gnoll article. Give them a flex stat, posit some ideas for feats, and maybe even a racial PP. |

| #8thespaceinvaderDec 02, 2011 8:50:20 | Can we talk about the half-written articles we dreamed of submitting? That is as far as I got. Alas. My free scaling mount article never even got past the theoretical stages, because I got a full-time job, and shelved my nascent ideas for a freelance career. It was going to be good, too. A theme and/or a multiclass, then a PP, possibly even an ED, each usable alone, or synergising together if you really wanted to focus on HORSIES. |
| #9nb_nmareDec 02, 2011 10:59:38 | I had about half a dozen articles I was planning to submit, but work has just been so crazy lately I just never had the time. Most of them tied in with the future Dragon themes that have been announced. For example, for the demons & devils theme, I was inspired by the tiefling character Magadon from the Erevis Cale novels to come up with a number of powers and alternative class features for psionic characters tainted by the Nine Hells. I was also tempted to suggest an infernal binder, but I have a feeling we may see that from someone at Wizards anyway. If I get time I may try submitting a few of these ideas to Kobold Quarterly. |
