Will there be a Deities and Demigods book in the future?

There really hasn't been any comfirmation either way, but I don't believe so the core pantheon is fairly small and really not enough to fill a book by itself.
They could do as in previous editions and fill the rest of the book with RL pantheons or pantheons from the published settings to date, ie, the Realms and Eberron(does it have a pantheon?). Then Deities and Demigods 2 could have the next settings pantheons.

I wouldn't count on iut. They've already statted out two dieties and stated that a third(Bane) is pointless to stat out. So that already takes out a decent amount of material from the book. It is much more likely imo that the Dieties and Demigods stuff will just get scattered throughout the various books with some of the left over dieties going to Dragon.

I would expect if/when Dieties and Demigods comes out it will not have god stats, or very few of them. It will have a lot of Information about their realms, minions, exarchs etc. Paragon Paths for their specific clerics and other player options for them.

I think a number of 'optional' deities are a good idea, along with Channel Divinity feats and information on them.

My Guess would be 30% setting info, 30% stats for followers, 30% Extra Dieties, 10% Player Options.

The Dieties and Demigods name is a too good and well known to just be left fallow.

Even still, those are things that will be covered in different areas. Player options would pretty much all fall under Divine Power(or I guess some of the other Power books, since there is a Rogue Raven Queen PP in Martial Power) or Dragon. The other details about the core deities should be covered in Dragon(read the Bane article from last month, it is extremely good).

Alternative dieties could work I suppose.

However they have already taken the name Dieties and Demigods as the name for the Dragon article series about the gods, so it isn't like the name is completely unused at the moment.

I think Deities & Demigods would be an awesome book if it explored the concepts behind the various lands' religions and what it may mean for a clerical character ...

I don't think Deities & Demigods will return as a 4e book. Don't get me wrong, i'd like to see it; but I don't think it's gonna happen. The truth is that 4e killed divine campaigning.
With level advancement capped at 30, and demigod as an epic path that ends your characater's adventures, there is very little purpose. The only likelyhood is the statting out of evil deities (like Tiamat in the draconomicon), and evil beings (like Yeenoghu and Demogorgon) who approach the level of deities, so they can be defeated as part of a campaign. And defeating them is likely to require artifacts or divine assistance to begin with.

I dunno. It's a traditional name; I'd say we'll see it used in some form or other, even if it isn't "The Epic Level Monster Manual".

That said, I'd like a nod back to first, and just fill it with adaptations of real world pantheons, or alternate fictional pantheons rather than simply statting out the core gods.

After all, I recall a statement in Races and Classes about being able to call on gods like Thor. Granted, a lot has changed since then...

Since 4E has spread out the beings that can give power to the different classes; primordials, demon lords and efreets(also djinn and probably dao and marids later on) in the Elemental Chaos, the spirits of the natural world and the gods and devils in the astral sea. It's probable that these will be detailed in the book covering those planes, such as the Plane Below will cover the elemental chaos.

*points to last month's issue of Dragon* It is already in use as the name for the article series detailing the gods in Dragon.

Personally, I would prefer it if they refrained from the deity setting book. Don't get me wrong; I'm as big a fan of god-centric games as any other, but in my 3e experience, the official stats from the Deities and Demigods were not the preferred game stats to use.

Also, as long as they keep their attention to heroic-paragon-epic, those three levels of play can be better-developed. If they are going to make a gods-book, it would be nice if they devote as much attention toward it. Unfortunately, I doubt that it will have that much attention at all - simply put, the market is too small.

I'm not saying that the market is non-existent, though. I'm saying, rather, that the need for rules regarding gods is best delegated to a third-party publisher. Personally, I'm waiting for Upper_Krust's Immortal's Handbook; he is focused on those tiers, and I believe he can do as good a jobwith divine beings as he did in 3e. :D

I extremely highly doubt that we will see a deties and demi-god book.
at best, we will see that info on them all, aincluding the FR and eberron, dragonlance, etc in dragon articles, and broken up between many many many books.

the home planes of the deities are in the manual of the planes, the core 3 has some of the gods and lesser than that, the demons, and devils are in the infernal books of which I dont own nor care too..
the FR gods are in the frcg and frpg
auril is in a dragon article.

eberron's will sink in their ECG as will the others in their own CS
