| #2elfspeakerJun 01, 2009 22:45:57 | It's going to include more of everything in the DMG. Most useful will be more traps and hazards, PH2 class templates for monsters, and more monster design tools. They also said they would be giving us a detailed write up of Sigil, City of Doors. I wouldn't be surprised to see some optional rules as well. |
| #3sigil_beguilerJun 01, 2009 22:48:20 | From Amazon: This core rulebook for the Dungeons & Dragons® Roleplaying Game features advice and rules for Dungeon Masters of all levels of experience, with a particular focus on running adventures and campaigns in the paragon tier (levels 11—20). It includes advanced encounter-building tools (including traps and skill challenges), storytelling tips to bring your game to life, new monster frameworks to help you craft the perfect villain, example campaign arcs, a comprehensive look at skill challenges, and a detailed “home base” for paragon-tier adventurers–the interplanar city of Sigil. |
| #4NerpherderJun 01, 2009 22:48:53 | Epanded rules for adventure building, more in depth rules for diffrent environments, more templates to add to your villians. Rules and/or examples on how to build villages, towns, and cities. Thats just a few of the things that could be disscused. Edit: Looks like I hit the nail on the head with some of my rambleings. |
| #5trobonJun 01, 2009 22:49:05 | Well from what we know here is a basic run down of what I am expecting: -A look at Sigil. This will go in the same place that the Fallcrest went in the first book. -Follow-ups on Chapters 3-6 and 8-10 focusing on paragon level DMing. This may include new combat options focusing on special types of combat. It could also have more exotic envrions and rules for them. Advice for how paragon levels differ from heroic level. -New chapters on running the game with again a focus on paragon gaming and on the newer rules in the game since last year. I expect that this will be done similar next year only for epic levels instead of paragon and if from what we see in the latest ampersand article it sounds like after that (DMG 4 perhaps) we might see stuff on what to do after 30. |
| #622_Over_7Jun 01, 2009 22:52:28 | And I suspect, like in PHB II, there will reprint a few fixes to things like the Skill Challenge system (which was substantially overhauled via errata). |
| #7arkady_vJun 12, 2009 11:30:59 | I am really looking forward to seeing A LOT more traps and hazards and A LOT more skill challenges. A whole lot of skill challenges. And, I'd like to see some Dungeon articles focus on not just ruling skill challenges but printing up a half dozen or so examples every other month. I think a running article that presents new traps and skill challenges every month would be awesome. |
