I think the announcment of the essentials line has caused many people to rethink what books they thought were going to come out.

Essentials represent the same thing that advance and, to a lesser extent, 0.5 did.

But they also represent a rethinking on the part od WotC about marketing.

I think of it of a branching of D&D in another territory, we know that character creation will be easier (lifepath with question that will give you a complete character) I think we will have a selection of build/power that keeps out the more problematic question, we know that monster will be done in the philosophy of the MM3

so it's the same game for a different audience

Jun 21, 2010 5:48:12 I hope they do release another dmg, with expanded info and tips. I always look forward to the dungeon master guides. It's not like they've done it all, already. There is still plenty that can go into another dmg.
