| #2the_badger_02Feb 02, 2009 21:49:53 | It all adds up to me, 10 + 1(1/2 level) + 3(+1 Leather Armor) + 3(Int) = 17 |
| #3Xeviat-DMFeb 03, 2009 1:43:03 | It all adds up to me, 10 + 1(1/2 level) + 3(+1 Leather Armor) + 3(Int) = 17 I confirm. |
| #4sallaFeb 03, 2009 1:43:46 | Were I to take a stab at it, I'd wager that totems are just holy symbols with the serial numbers filed off. |
| #5Xeviat-DMFeb 03, 2009 4:31:39 | Druids can use totems, so I don't believe they're going to be 100% leader oriented. Then again, the Druid is supposed to be a little leader, so maybe the totems are for leader druids and the staffs are for defender druids (staffs to tend to give defensive boosts). |
| #6wizardmonFeb 03, 2009 11:40:54 | The thing about implements is that they all have unique properties: - Staffs can be used as weapons (quarterstaffs) - Wands store arcane powers - Holy Symbols can be worn, and are not required to be held. I wonder how, if at all, Totems will be different from Holy Symbols. |
| #7brotherjgizmoFeb 03, 2009 12:18:49 | Yep I miscalculated, (sleeep, need sleep....) |
| #8Tharag_BoccFeb 03, 2009 13:34:23 | I wonder how, if at all, Totems will be different from Holy Symbols. I don't expect they will. Given that shamans specifically gain proficiency with a two-handed weapon, it would seem likely that totems will share the holy symbol's ability to be worn instead of held. It seems to me that totems are just a refluff of holy symbols for the primal power source. |
| #9cadfanFeb 03, 2009 14:54:52 | Totems probably have different magic item powers. Consider wands and rods for warlocks. Functionally the same, except that they have different magic item options. |
| #10BolongoFeb 03, 2009 15:22:56 | Totems probably have different magic item powers. Consider wands and rods for warlocks. Functionally the same, except that they have different magic item options. If by "function" you mean they're both sticks you wave at people to make them go away, absolutely. ;) More crunchily: they both use the same slot in your inventory (one hand). Holy symbols, by comparison, are worn items that don't take up any slot at all. So the assumption seems to be that totems will be like symbols in this regard, rather than like rods/wands/orbs. |
