Draconomicon 2 - printed upside down and backwards!?!?!?!?

Nov 17, 2009 19:58:13 Just got Draconomicon 2. Upon opening the cover what do I see? The last page upside down! It appears the book was bound backwards!!!! Anyone else have this happen to them?

Nov 18, 2009 1:05:45 Don't have my copy yet, but it errors like this happen with most any large scale print run. At least your copy is still usable. I have a copy of A Practical Guide To Dragons that half way through has half the preceding pages duplicated (backwards, but not upside down). It still has all the rest of the proper pages after the duplicated ones, but it made for a jarring read the first time around.

Not with D2, but I have encountered it with previous books. It's a binding error that sometimes slips passed the quality control--it's not critical since all the pages are there, but it is annoying.

Always do a flip check to be sure, if purchasing from a game- or book-store.

You could always return it. That is what I would do. It is an obvious error.

I believe traditional books which have editing mistakes such as this make valuable collector's items down the road in the future.

I dunno if the same is true for RPG products though ;)

I mean seriously, of any RPG book, that was the one to get bound upside down and backwards. It just smacks of the warping of Chaos and occult practices.

Or just a mundane mistake by printing and quality control.... It doesn't HAVE to be evil..... There are just normal coincidences in the realm of RPGs (no matter how evil we may think they are)

Nov 19, 2009 20:37:42 I got it from Amazon (nearest LFGS is over an hour away), so no way I had to check it was SANFU'd before purchase. I'll just end up keeping it - it is more of hassle to return it than flip the book over.
