Dragonlance!

I don't know about anyone else on here, but the Dragonlance Chronicles and the world of Krynn were my introduction to Dungeons & Dragons.  It was the only world I ever played when I was a kid working my way through AD&D.  Now that I'm getting back into the game through a friend who runs games through the Adventurer's League, I have to say that 5e feels just like coming back to my old games.  The only downside is that there's no Krynn!  Does anyone else feel this way?  Maybe if enough people ask for it on here, a Dragonlance sourcebook will be the next thing on the list of new products.

Krynn made an appearance in the latest UA article which is a plus for me.  I really got into D&D via the first Dragonlance novel back when I was a kid.  I've converted some of the AD&D stuff for use in my 5e homebrew world (mainly Draconians because they're some of my favorite monsters of all time.)

I feel the same way.  With the new release schedule, it looks as though they're going slow and steady, with which I'm fine considering a) I'm older and less rushed, and b) I appreciate the super high level of quality for 5e.

Raistlin was my favorite wizard for years after I read the Time of the Twins and Dragons of "put appropriate name here" trilogies. Some of the best reads I ever had. These were my gateway to adnd and wasn't really into it until I experienced the epicness of Dragonlance. Tanis Halfelven, Caramon and Raistlin Majere, Tika Waylan, Riverwind and Goldmoon, Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Kitiara, Fistandantilus, The Kingpriest, among oh so many others. These are names I find as iconic as Lord of the Rings characters and the world was so flavorful and awesome in scope. I remember so many vivid scenes that it would blow your mind. So yes, I am all for Dragonlance's return.

No other fantasy world informs my idea of what DnD is more than Krynn. Not in a "everything should work like it does in DL" way, but just the feel of DL, of this world where there is hope where it can seem like non exists, and it comes as much from people who are willing to become heroes as it does from gods or their miracles, for me...that's what DnD is. I don't even think of the dungeon crawl when I think DnD, I think of mortals taking up arms against great evils and finding heroes in themselves in the process.

 

So yeah, I definately want a 5e DL suppliment or two.
