Dungeon Delve 2 idea: use user-submitted mini-dungeons

Mar 04, 2009 22:42:48 I'm absolutely in love with Dungeon Delve. It's the perfect companion accessory for the busy DM who needs a quick one-night dungeon when the adventurers decided to go exploring or wants to play a quick game with some friends and no prep time.

I'm really hoping Wizards makes this a regular product line. One idea I had was to make delves a standard format for freelance submissions. This way Wizards editors could pick the thirty best delves and put them together in each new book. The format is nice and well defined so its easy to write for and easy to edit.

I'd also like to see a lot more delves released on D&D insider. I love the adventures I'm seeing, but I'm never going to have a chance to play them. I run a weekly game and we're going through all of the published adventures from Shadowfell to Trollhaunt and I'm just not going to get to the adventures published on Insider.

Delves, however, I could use very often. I'd love to do some one-on-one delves with my wife or a friend. I'd love to run some quick one-shot adventures for my old gaming group that only gets together once every couple of months.

I would also love to see some nicely-formatted pre-gen characters for these digital delves so everything is all ready for a fun night of gaming, including the character creation.

Anyway, that's my thought. I love this product and I want to see it expanded.

Mar 04, 2009 22:48:20 User submitted Delves would make for an interesting contest, with the right guidelines. Tile set requirements, maximum amount of home-brew, etc.

Alot of work for the judges though.

Dungeon Delve has probably the fastest turnaround from acquisition-to-use of any of the D&D books I've bought, as I just got it in the mail today and (since half of the group couldn't make it for the regular campaign) used it tonight to run a quick one-shot through the level 2 dungeon. It was extremely handy.
