Dungeon Tiles I would like to see

I've been using the Dungeon Tile sets a fair amount recently, but I would really like to see some more available. Here's a list of what I would like to see:

More Generic Tiles
I think they should either re-release DT1 or make a new set which is very similar. Ideally, they should make several sets that have the exact same visual look so we can have some real variety in our generic dungeons.

Aquatic Themed
I would like a set of Dungeon Tiles with beaches, ships, and other aquatic themed tiles. For extra awesome, they could include a fold-out water background, for putting the ships and beach on. Greatships from the AV (8x20 squares) could be done with two 8x10 tiles. If these are double-sided, then we can make 4 different Greatships!

Planar Tiles
I would be interested in tile sets themed off of a specific plane. These would really help bring the different planes to life in the minds of the players, instead of being "hey another dungeon."

More Outdoor Tiles
Ruins of the Wild is a very nice tile set, but there are many other outdoor settings that aren't represented. Dense forest, desert, and mountainous/rocky terrain are all present in many fantasy works, but have no tiles to represent them.

What else would you like to see?

For some reason, high level spell casters are required to build towers and adventurers are required to storm said towers (either as ruins or strongholds). A tile set with a round outlines and fixtures that fit in those outlines (like stairs) would be nice. I mean, I think a circle printed on the grid system with tiles that can be overlaid in the circle would get a lot of play.

As far as nonstandard type settings, I always thought something that looked like Mayan ruins would be fun to run around in.

I believe they're making something like what you're talking about: Link

Actually, they seem to be making a woods tile set too: Link

Both of them are scheduled to come out later this year (June and October respectively).

Tilesets I would like to see:

Desert
Snow & Ice

I realize these don't have the universal appeal of the regular dungeon tiles, so I'd suggest doing 3-4 releases per year, the first of which is always "generic" dungeon, one outdoor tiles, and the other two could be mixed types.

For example:

Year 1
------
"Generic" dungeon set
Desert set
Wilderness set
Urban set

Year 2
------
"Generic" dungeon set
Snow & Ice set
Wilderness set
Cave set

Etc.

On a side note, I buy two of every set that they make. As long as they keep the price $10, I will continue to do so for as many as 6 sets/year. Bumping the price, even just to $12.99, means I'm down to one set. Over $14.99 and I stop buying altogether. I can't stress enough how much appeal the affordability adds.

More Generic Tiles

Honestly this isn't as big a problem as most people seem to think. I have two copies every set. Arcane Corridors (DT2), Fane of the Forgotten Gods (DT7), and Halls of the Giant Kings (DU1) all have lots of generic tiles and offer a far more interesting variety of set pieces. Dire Tombs (DT6) is also pretty generic and offers some unique sizes and shapes found in no other set, though being of radically different color scheme it doesn't blend well with other sets.

People seem to have this false mystique concerning the first set which I am quite sure is only due to how hard it is to get a hold of now days. Honestly, I find it to be the most boring set and if I had to choose any one set not to own it would be the one I would drop.

Aquatic Themed

Yes.

Planar Tiles

Could be cool, though it might also be difficult to truly capture the spectacle of any particular plane in 2D form. Focused themed sets might work better. I'd love to see a fully volcanic cave set.

More Outdoor Tiles

Yes.

What else would you like to see?

While it incredibly unlikely to happen, I would love to see a clockwork tile set. Mechanis(sp?) was one of the few planes I felt had a unique enough land scape to truly deserve it's own set. Sadly that plane didn't make the transition to 4E, though I still think it could make for an amazingly distinct set.

Beyond that I'd like to see another city set. This time with the reverse side being interior locations instead of sewers.

Another set with the sandy color scheme of Dire Tombs would be nice, maybe combined as part of a desert themed outdoors set. Also I'd like to see more variant color sets period. I'm starting to get sick of drab grey.

Desert
Snow & Ice

Ooh, ice. How could I forget Ice.

I'd like to second both of these. While I'm not a fan of Mechanis per se, I would love to have some "clockwork" and "steampunk" style terrain and terrain features. If they created a set that used the Eberron "magipunk" style (so, some gears, lots of pipes, some magic), I'd be an instant fan (I'd buy two, at least).

For reference, here's a few other threads from the past that discussed this. I figured I'd post the links, rather than reposting my ideas.

I would like to see a more tiles of furnishings: tables, chairs, fireplaces, braziers, beds, bookracks, weaponracks, barrels, crates, sacks, chests, (tavern) bars, bazaar stands, ...

It would be really cool to make some setting specific tiles. EX. An Eberron Tiles Set with a Dragonmark office tile, the deck of an airship, a car in a Lightning Rail, a Quori Monolith, etc. Probably unfeasible financially, but c'est la vie.

I'd like to see generic stone and wood floors with the accessories to make a Tavern , supply shop, library, armory, or alchemy shop. The tavern in the previous set is just too small for a good bar fight. Maybe even a stable. I'll second the snow and add major terrains, swamps, desert jagged cliffs or pass. I usually by two of each set and have been able to do most locations except the ones mentioned.

Another great idea. Even in previous threads, folks have been looking forward to "interior" tiles, for the types of things you've listed out. I'd really like to see something like that in a second "Urban" set - give us streets and Roofs (and balconies, and external elements) on one side, and then all "interior" tiles on the reverse.

I can only agree with what's been said. Dungeon Tiles are great, especially since they are affordable, and I'd like to see more release per year. Although I only buy one of each, I'd ssure pick up one every other month for $10 instead of every 3-4 months.

My top 3 wanted tile sets are Ice/snow (a mix of in- and outdoors), more forest tiles, and a set featuring larger rivers, lakes and sea shores, bridges of various types and stuff like that.

For additional outdoor tiles featuring "green" areas (as opposed to rock/snow/sand) I hope they design them to mesh well with the existing outdoor tiles. I suppose that would also be good for other types of tiles to give us more options when building a dungeon without breaking the style or theme. On the other hand they would have to keep a balance by still making entirely new themes for variety.

I also liked the counters with monster/npc art from the introduction box for 4E. They are better then dice, and we don't have enough (different) miniatures. It would be nice if they can include some on-theme monsters along with furniture or maybe make a "Monster Manual I token set" with all the monsters from the book.

Although I realize they might be a little more expensive, I would most likely buy a set or two of simple 3-D tiles; die-cut and/or pre-creased ones that would be simple to fold into stairways and raised areas. Right now, I'm making these myself out of box-board, but I would like to step up to sturdier grades of cardboard. Also, sometimes my lines are a little wonky

Seriously, every time I've gone to the trouble of providing 3-D terrain for combat, my players have paid attention and really try to use the features to their advantage, I assume because it's harder to visualize what's really going on when a dais is just as flat as the rest of the map, with a small "2" printed on it somewhere.

Desert (yes, yes, yes! Sandy desert, badlands, salt flats, and much more)
Mountainous terrain (with paths and the like)
Arctic (snow, cracked ice atop water, icebergs, and whatnot)
Underwater
Beaches
Rivers
Forests (Seasonal: a spring/summer set, a winter set, and an autumn set with more-or-less identical tiles simply changed for a new season; More variety of forest, from redwood to pine to traditional, and more)
Jungle
Vehicles
Mounts
Scenery (furniture, statues, crates, barrels, tables with chairs, etc)
Spell Effects (zones, conjurations, and so on)

Swamp set. Every adventuring party needs to traverse a spooky swamp once in a while.

If you can find the 3e module "City of Peril", I believe it has a good tavern map. I have it back at home and staged one helluva bar fight that had the wizard hanging from a spar on the upper story in an Epic-Level wedgie while orcs shot at him from below.

Definitely the swamps.
Bog tiles + hag minis + minions + Black Dragon = good times.

I really want to see tile of the inside of a king's castle, or a baron's manor. Not some dreary dungeon look, though you could use it as a dungeon, but a grand and regal look. Something like King Alteon's castle in Swordhaven (from the AQ Worlds online game). I have one hell of an adventure idea for something like that.

Another vote for swamps and residence interiors on a grand scale. I have a side adventure running involving one ranger and one rogue who are trying to figure out what's behind the recent aggressive stance and sudden imperialistic aspirations of their formerly peaceful homeland. To sub for a castle, I have to use the poster map from the 3e starter kit. It works, but it'd be nice to have something more visually in accordance.

I'd love to see Dungeon Tiles that arrange themselves on the damn table. Using them in actual play -- usually in an attempt to run an RPGA adventure -- has proven fraught with frustration.

Hmm. How about a flexible LCD battlemat that you can upload images to?

An additional thought, from recent use putting together the Keep on the Shadowfell dungeons.

I need more doors. And beds. Essentially the "more dressing / furniture" that others have said before. But those two things specifically.

I often find my adventurers in places with beds and sleeping quarters - even while in dungeons. And I keep running out of doors in the more complex locations. Doors, tapestries, curtains - Would love to have them. Maybe a few "found secret door" tiles as well.
