I think it's a great idea our group has been using the castle set, trees and some figures from heroscape for a while now.Once in a while we use the terrain in arena batlles in our D&D game .It's a great game to play while waiting for a player or DM to show up or get ready. Plus if they have waves of D&D heroscape it won't be a blind purchase.  Every time I got a bug mini I died a little inside, I can get bugs at the dollar store!!Yell

I actually think this is a nice compromise for those who don't want to buy blind minis boosters. It's a legit different game, but I'm sure scores of DMs will buy it simply to get their hands on the minis inside.

I'll probably pick it up myself. I've never played Heroscape, but always considered it. Now I have an excuse to spend the money.

I find it funny WOTC isn't advertising it at all on the official WOTC website. They have a a link for heroscape but it goes to a old website that hasn't been updated in over a year.My group has been playing D&D for years we are finally trying out 4th edition next week,we have been playing 3.5.

I just don't want to give up my Book of Vile Darkness so I have been dragging my heels.

Well, it was just announced a couple weeks ago, so it'll probably be a little time until we see it promo'd.
