Dungeons & Dragons Essentials
While the current format of the Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game is great for those of us who have been playing the game for years (or even decades!), we knew that we needed to take a shot at making the products more accessible to the next generation of gamers. For this reason, we’re introducing the Essentials line of products later this year.
The Essentials line consists of 10 key products that will always be in stock and will form the core of the Dungeons & DragonsRoleplaying Game experience moving forward. Each product is designed to provide a more streamlined, more directed, and less expensive experience for the user. These products don’t replace the existing Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, or Monster Manual. They represent a separate pathway into the game.
I saw ad of D&S essentials, so called "red Box". I thought it will be "D&D Lite". Looking at contents, I saw it is quite similar to Dungeons&Dragons Starter Set. What is difference, if any. Is "red Box" the same as older starter?

Essentials is a starter set for 4e.
Including dice, mini's, tiles, updated and easier to read rules, along with a few new class options.
