Many Aberrations are psionic. I think it would be nifty if there was at least one psionic class that gained their power because their mind was touched by something aberrant. I once made a soulknife variant that used an aberrant symbiotic graft as a weapon instead of a psychic blade; that was pretty nifty. My point is that I'd like a connection between psionic and aberrant, but that might just be me.

I hope Elans are back. They were my favorite race out of the XPH.

It also has minotaurs in the phb3 as well as the gith.

so it seams to me that the FAR realm might actually work, or mind you it could mix with Dragonlance .

I think it's an "AGAINST (incursion by) the Far Realm" theme, rather than just "Far Realm" themed. There's a pretty significant difference between those.

Right you are dh.
As shown by the Wilden being the Feywilds reaction to the Far Realms incursions. Since many of the aberrant creatures are psionic, the introduction of psionic races in PHB 3 is for giving the players a chance to take the fight to them.
I don't doubt that MM 3 will contain;
Dharculus, Dolghast, Dolgrim, Neh-Thalggun and other far realm denizens.

This is a good thing, due to the relative lack of Aberrants. Compared with say, Fey - There's currently ~115 Fey creatures released, while only ~58 Aberrant creatures released. I say approximate because I haven't combed through Dungeon or the modules yet to complete these lists. And neither of those are a fraction of the amount of natural creatures. Elemental is pretty high too. Shadow is low. Immortal is medium, due to Devils mostly. More Aberrants would be VERY nice, especially Star Spawn for the rest of the Far Realm Stars from Wish Upon A Star....

EDIT: With the help of the compendium, the Fey to Aberrant ratio is now complete: 157 Fey (not counting named individuals or RPGA level adjustments) to 104 Aberrant (again, not counting named individuals or level adjustments). There's a lot of room for more Aberrants in that comparison alone, and many of those came from Dungeon or from some Module, and deserve a place in the MM3 (like more Foulspawn...).

I'm interested to see how Minotaurs will fit into this theme, though. Hopefully a non-Barbarian, non-defender class will be released that they can take advantage of as well - perhaps as one of the two primal, perhaps as one of Psionic classes.

I'm seeing more spiritualistic and eastern flavour Divine and Primal classes to be the extras to bring us to 6 (equal with Arcane), which also fits in with the theme of against the unnatural Far Realm and protecting the despoiling of nature. Mikos (not called that, because too few people know the meaning of the word), a Divine archer class that can purify and heal with arrows at range; a more traditional Buddhist monk (Exorcist?) sort of Divine class, that uses Sutras (or perhaps called Seals for the purpose of our western audience) as implements; Shugenja as primal element manifesters or perhaps Wu Jen (maybe only one of the two), and a Voodun sort of class that focuses on hexing with nature magic. That could actually be a Wu Jen build too, allowing both to be Primal Classes.

The question is, if these two oriental elementalist classes are lost from Elemental, what will Elemental have in three years? I don't think it'll get axed, I'm just interested in what they have in store. But in any case, the "Purification" theme amongst these primal and divine classes fits well with fighting the Fell Taint of the Far Realm.
