What Builds or Themes etc... Do you expect? Would love to see a Cleric(Mystic?) build that is as straightforward and badass as the Warpriest in a lasery, weaponless, light-armor kinda way. I'd also appreciate an essentialized Invoker, with much more focus and meaningful options a la the Mage. |

What Builds or Themes etc... Do you expect? A safe bet because WotC always finishes what they start? I think shadow and elemental are good, as they're power sources we don't have and were not a part of the canned PHB4 . I don't know what Feywild would offer beyond Essentials updates of existing classes. There's no "fey" power source. |

What Builds or Themes etc... Do you expect? Barbarian build, Bard build, Druid build, fey Themes, fey organizations, feats for fey characters, 3 new races, and points of interest on the plane, as was explained during a dev seminar at GenCon. ![]() The book will also serve as inspiration for the next season of Encounters! ![]() |
| #5hattaAug 07, 2011 22:44:26 | Anything for the Avenger. |
| #6omegaphallicAug 07, 2011 22:56:13 | I expect we'll see builds for Invoker and Avenger, with possibly new vices and virtues for the paladin and something for the other divine leaders. Plus themes. Maybe a divine build for a one divine class, like divine rogue or exarch warlock build (I've been expecting one since both Binders and Hexblades Master of Magic utility has divine, shadow, and arcane), or a divine right flavoured Warlord. Or a divine bard. |
| #7mrpopstarAug 07, 2011 23:39:19 | I'd prefer the name of the book to reference the "Plane Above" as opposed to the "Astral Sea." -- Just my preference.I expect we'll see builds for Invoker and Avenger, with possibly new vices and virtues for the paladin and something for the other divine leaders. Maybe a divine build for a one divine class, like divine rogue or exarch warlock build (I've been expecting one since both Binders and Hexblades Master of Magic utility has divine, shadow, and arcane), or a divine right flavoured Warlord. | #8Luis_CarlosAug 08, 2011 1:22:59 | Couldn´t primal be the "fay" power? |
| #9mrpopstarAug 08, 2011 7:18:29 | Couldn´t primal be the "fay" power? The Feywild is magic and nature intermixed to the point of being one and the same, according to fluff. The Feywild book will therefore contain classes that utilize the Arcane power source and classes that utilize the Primal power source, leaning more on the Arcane emphasis. Astral sea? If I think about sea I imagine ships and pirates. What about swashbuckler like warrior archetype or subclass? The term "astral sea" employs the word "sea" in such a way as to liken the vast expanse of the astral plane to that of the sea, it's not a literal defintion. Swashbuckler was explicitly addressed during GenCon as being something that would/should/could be covered as a Theme. |
| #10Sea-EnvyAug 08, 2011 20:16:44 | I think this hypothetical book would be a good chance to add to the runepreist since they are more about using the same power as the gods instead of calling on a specific god. And of course I would like to see the last 2 philosophies for chavelier and blackgaurd. Don't forget the astral sea is not just gods and devils. In theory Mechanis and the Modrons are in the astral sea too. The Githyanky live in the Astral sea. Some warlocks prowl the astral sea so they can drink the power of dead gods. |

The Runepriest is gaining a Kanji build in DDI when Kara-Tur makes its debut. More Virtues for the Cavalier and Vices for the Blackguard would be welcome additions! |
| #12DuskweaverAug 09, 2011 5:24:50 | The term "astral sea" employs the word "sea" in such a way as to liken the vast expanse of the astral plane to that of the sea, it's not a literal defintion. And yet, there is an abundance of seafaring tropes in the existing The Plane Above book. The book's cover even has a githyanki pirate at the wheel of a ship, with other ships (with sails, even) in the background. He even has a (sort of) eye patch. It's not at all outlandish to suggest a player's book concentrating on the Astral Sea might have options for characters that want to be pirates or swashbucklers. |

| #15BotanicusAug 11, 2011 9:15:15 | I'd like to see: Cloistered Cleric options Specific Infernal Pacts (Glasya, Levistus etc) Additional Runepriest options, please don't try an e-build of it though. Rituals (not expecting) Equipment with a divine or Astral theme Epic Destinies or Paragon paths for Champions of - most of them now are for specific deities, not groupings like Hestavar, Celestia, Arvandor etc I'd expect to also see a Wizard build, after all... every book needs more wizard options. There is a lot in the Astral Sea, from Baator to Pandemonium it isn't all Divine Domains and whatnot, there's actually a lot that can be done with the Dead God aspect of the sea as well. |
| #16renchardAug 11, 2011 12:39:39 | I would like a book that is ~20 domains for Warpriests, 1 for each 4e god. What else do you need? |

What Builds or Themes etc... Do you expect? have you ever even played an invoker? bc you sure dont act like it. id love to bring my invoker to one of your games and show you what meaningful looks like. the last thing we need is essentials versions of every class just bc some players dont even get the clases to begin with |
