#1 dnd_player829 Oct 30, 2011 16:36:50	As the name states, this thread is about discussing what you like most about the upcoming book, Heroes of the Feywild. I personally am looking forward to the berserker class/subclass the fey tamer theme, and to a lesser extent, the pixie. But enough about me, what are YOU looking forward to?

I need more themes to help me fit into more champagins and settings and I think the theme is the best suited to do this, rivaled only by race. Loved what I saw from the fey tamer, and can't wait to see unsavory patron...

#6 Kalnaur Oct 30, 2011 19:09:03	I am interested in actually looking at the book and finding out if it's worth getting or not.  No amount of previews for anything have made me anything more or less than pleasently skeptical of the possible final product. Why yes, I am a cynic. ;)
#7 yellerSumner Oct 30, 2011 19:28:20	Fey Beast Tamer. I have a character I made a ranger entirely because it was the only class that got a pet at the beginning of 4th. I would love to see more themes that let you escape a 'forced' class (or other) choice. (I'll be upset if for some crazy reason they decide not to do themes for the next season of Encounters.) Berserker. When PHB2's barbarian was released, I was disappointed that at 5th level you had to choose a power with an energy keyword. By the time Primal Power provided that option, I had lost interest and was busy looking at other classes. If the Berserker is Martial/Primal similar to the HotF* Rangers, I think it will have a good chance at providing me with the tools to play the sort of barbarian I was hoping for. Pixie. My boyfriend really likes fey and I certainly hope he ends up liking it even though it doesn't have at-will greater invisibility, the crazy stat bonuses, and whatever else the 3.x version he used to make DMs cry with had. I kinda like it just for some of the nerdrage it's causing. Maybe some interest: Witch - If there's charm/enchantment powers for my wizard. Skald - Bard is boyfriend's favorite class. Hope it's something that satisfies him. Feats - Because they're feats.
#8 Zelkon Oct 30, 2011 19:39:55	Barbarian, which is hopefuly compatible with phb2. All I want is a few new powers to complement my (badish) paragon path. Wich will be interesting. Oooh and beast tamer. My kobold barbarian is going to ride an owlbear into battle from now on. Like a boss. No warden or seeker (mostly the first one). Waiting to see how the bard is implemented. hopefuly it can do something other then slide the enemy two squares per day. Pixie. Nuff said. Druid will be fun to create fake charecters with. And the FLUFF. so basicly everything everyone else said, only put together.

#10 Style75 Oct 30, 2011 19:52:53	I'm looking forward to all the awesome Feywild fluff, story ideas, locations, and NPC's. I love folk stories about strange magical worlds and this book appears to be a mish mash of them all. I've been obsessed with the Feywild since 4e was first announced. We got a taste with the Manual of the Planes and ever since then I've been hoping a book like this would be released. I'm ticked off there's no Feywild adventure box set like was done for the Shadowfell. Hopefully this book sells well enough that they will reconsider. Mechanically I'm hoping the witch build gives wizards some true polymorph powers. On the rare occasion I play WoW, there's nothing more satisfying than turning the bad guys into sheep for a little while. I'd like that warm fuzzy feeling in D&D.
#11 genericusername Oct 30, 2011 20:15:15	The Pixie, because it's tiny, has at-will flight (yay altitude limit!), and has some great fluff. The Themes, because they seem interesting, and I'm excited to see what they do. The Protector, because it just seems cool to have a Druid Defender (I'm assuming), and is very intriguing. The Skald, because I like Bards, and it would give mine some more options. Also I want to see if it really does have a healing aura, and if so, if it also has Healing Word-type healing.

I think I'm looking forward to the Pixie despite the fact that basically everyone in my group hates it and has banned out of their stupid idiocy(meaning pretty much they just don't like pixies and think the idea is stupid, or think that because their wield small weapons it makes them OP).  But I don't care, I love the fact that Wizards actually took a chance in making the pixie, to be honest I put little stock in their ability to make good decisions so the pixie has surprised me.  Though some clarity in language would be nice(and no I'm not starting any bloody debate). I'm really curious about the Hamadryad.  I hope they preview it before hand, but either way I've always loved dryads from mythology and even made my own dryad 4th race awhile back so I'm curious what they turn up. I like the Satyr, it has a fun story even though the mechanics are bland it's still a solid race. Otherwise, I'm curious about the Witch.  It's been getting a lot of flack but I like it so far and I'm not a fan of essentialized classes nor the heap of powers/builds/subclasses the wizard has been getting but I admit I'm curious about the Witch. I want to see how the Berzerker works.  The idea of a class that starts as a defender, then rages and switches to more of a striker has me intrigued.

#14 thespaceinvader Oct 31, 2011 4:47:58	I've actually been reasonably interested in most of the previews thus far, and aside from the Witch, I'm really looking forward to it, to the extent of probably taking one of my days of holiday to go down to the FLGS shortly after release and get my hands on it. Then spend several months pining to play the stuff in it, because I can't fit it into my LFR games without getting my characters too far behind the rest of the group >.<

#16 Fleck Oct 31, 2011 7:26:14	I'm looking forward to the new races, the feywild fluff and some of the new powers. Turning enemies into frogs? I'll build a new caster just for that spell. No new build since essentials has impressed me so far. But hey, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
#17 helnae Oct 31, 2011 8:23:09	I'm looking forward to playing my Pixie Executioner with his three-piece business suit (leather armor) and his canesword (light shield + rapier + dagger) and his awesomeness while standing (not riding, not flying. standing) on the back of his pet displacer beast. All I need now is a good name for him. I know, I could probably make him now, but I'm lazy. I also want to have a look at the other stuff they're putting in the book.
#18 aldrendolarrah Oct 31, 2011 11:54:18	I would love to see a Mounted theme that actually gives us a mount, just like the Fey Beast Tamer theme gives us a pet. I mean, there seems to be an Eladrin who is riding an unicorn in the portrait, isn´t there?

Now all we need is a racial write-up of actual trolls. Or MODOK. Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to the other themes, especially the Sidhe Lord theme. Apparently, this theme will be similar to the Fey Beastmaster in that it will also grant a companion, the House Guard. The new racial feats also have me curious.
#23 tallric_kruush Oct 31, 2011 17:50:04	I'm eager to see the new builds, particularly for the Barbarian and Bard. I don't like either existing Druid concept, so I'm curious to see what the new Druid brings to the table. I haven't been particularly pleased with any of the Essentials-style builds, but our houseruled version of the Blackguard is solid. I'm optimistic that taking these new builds off the (likely built-in) rails will provide some new, flavorful options. Our party's Blackguard plays like a Defender|Striker, with Ardent Strike, and I'm really curious to see how the Barbarian might do this with built-in features, rather than poached powers. I love the idea and flavor of the Bard, but have never been impressed enough to abandon the Warlord. Maybe this new build will catch my interest to a greater extent. And, of course, Themes! The more the better.
