How many Player's Handbook Races books will there be?

Apr 26, 2010 21:08:29 Dragonborn is out (and I'm pleased that WotC released it as a floppy, stapled book: It's a good product but it would have been padded fluff if they'd tried to make it a 150-page hardcover) and Tieflings come this summer. Humans (kind of a weird choice but, um, okay) is on tap for the winter.

Are there going to be more after that? Dragonborn and Tieflings genuinely needed some attention paid to them because unlike elves/dwarves/halflings/gnomes/half-elves, they aren't super-familiar to fantasy players.

But then again if you're going to do a Humans book then there's no strong excuse for not doing a book for most other races as well. So allow me to most heartily vote for Player's Handbook Races: Half-Orcs.

Apr 26, 2010 21:33:41 There should just be one of those books for every race out of all PHB releases which contain new races, especially if there is going to be one for humans.

But I would really like to see a Players Handbook Races book for the Astral Deva's and Minotaurs. Astral Deva's because this race, and roleplaying it, is sort of a mystery to me... they remind me of the wise spirits that appear in cartoons and send someone on a crazy quest. And Minotaurs are awesome.

While they are cool and interesting, they're unlikely to be in a series of books called "Player's Handbook Races", since they are not, after all, Player's Handbook races. The same applies to the drow.

Changeling's need alot of help though, the PHBIII races have about as many feats, or more, than the Changeling. This includes the article released this month, which really only serves as a flimsy excuse not to give them more dragon support in the neer future.

I'd like a book on the shardmind and goliaths.

Other handbooks I'd love to buy:
Shardmind (seriously number 1 on my list)
Deva
Goliath
Wilden
Minotaur
Shifter

As for more standard races, Dwarves and Gnomes. Dwarves are pretty obvious, but 4e Gnomes could be very interesting.

But I'd like a Wilden or Shardmind book too. Shifters and Changelings need some stuff too.
