| #1daevaJul 28, 2009 23:20:30 | lets play the i hope game! one thing you hope wizard eventually adds, ill start. I hope that primal power has a whirling frenzy variant for barbarian, a str dex build based on dual wielding, a slightly lower dps made up by the fact you have better defenses and mobility, perhaps a free basic attack when you bloody an enemy, or a shift and small defense bonus for a turn when you do, and for the encounter power a small accuracy and damage bonus for a round after being missed against the target. |
| #2Seeker95Jul 29, 2009 7:48:04 | Fatigue, hunger, thirst, and sleep deprivation rules. |
| #3samyueruJul 29, 2009 8:49:49 | Not really something that they should add just something that they should keep doing: Keep coming up with interesting ways to use the power structure. |
| #4ShiftkittyJul 29, 2009 9:09:43 | I hope that Wizards, with their release schedule, puts out material that deserves to be put out, and doesn't spit out a book just because "Well, we have to print something this month..." |
| #5DaphnesweetsJul 29, 2009 9:34:05 | I hope that they give up the idea of only one campaign setting a year, if all they are going to give it is two books. With only two books they could put out 2 settings a year and hopefully let us get through all of the old settings quickly. That and I'd like to see a nice heavy armor melee striker. |
| #6Thalion94518Jul 29, 2009 10:18:22 | Wizards puts the ability to incorporate house rules into the Character Builder |
| #7satoriJul 29, 2009 10:34:41 | I hope that Tieflings receive support for varied devilish ancestry. |
| #8williamhm75Jul 29, 2009 10:59:17 | I hope that every race gets at least a few epic level racial feats. No epic racial feat for tieflings makes me sad. I hope we get an article in dragon for every pact of warlock like we did for star pact. |
| #9XisiqomelirJul 29, 2009 11:05:08 | Fatigue, hunger, thirst, and sleep deprivation rules. If we're just going to go all crazy here, then I'm going to wish for weapon speed factors and encumbrance. |
| #10Seeker95Jul 29, 2009 11:26:56 | If we're just going to go all crazy here, then I'm going to wish for weapon speed factors and encumbrance. I do not understand the relevance. |
| #11XisiqomelirJul 29, 2009 11:43:14 | I do not understand the relevance. These are the realism rules that were eliminated in the 4E "streamlining" design. Whereas before you'd look up a thirst chart to get the effects of water deprivation after X days, now there'd just be handwaving, and an Endurance check and healing surge loss or something. |
| #12Cpt_MichaJul 29, 2009 11:47:09 | I hope that Wizards, with their release schedule, puts out material that deserves to be put out, and doesn't spit out a book just because "Well, we have to print something this month..." You mean Martial Power 2? ![]() |
| #13Seeker95Jul 29, 2009 14:24:47 | These are the realism rules that were eliminated in the 4E "streamlining" design. There is a reference in the Player's Handbook about the DMG containing rules on trying to push yourself too hard. "Your speed per hour on the Base Exploration Speed table assumes a walking pace. You can move overland at twice this speed, but it’s hard to sustain that pace. Rules in the Dungeon Master’s Guide cover what happens if you push yourself too hard." (PHB page 261) Such rules are not present. I suspect an adventuring party is likely to encounter a lack of food or water, or a need to travel for a few days without sleep at some point in the campaign. I as the DM can make **** up about this, but the impact is guaranteed to be negative, and I'd prefer that the *players* already have an idea of what the consequences are. |
| #14HerrozerroJul 29, 2009 14:30:02 | If we're just going to go all crazy here, then I'm going to wish for weapon speed factors and encumbrance. If by weapon speed you mean how good it is, its already there under Proficiency |
| #15sirkaikillahJul 29, 2009 14:37:56 | Paladin war horse. Maybe they can make cavalier build, similar to the beast companion rules for a ranger. |
| #16XisiqomelirJul 29, 2009 14:40:48 | There is a reference in the Player's Handbook about the DMG containing rules on trying to push yourself too hard. I am on your side completely, I just think that Hasbro isn't going to accommodate us. If by weapon speed you mean how good it is, its already there under Proficiency Speed factors modify initiative, not attack rolls. |
| #17manionJul 29, 2009 14:41:00 | I wouldn't mind stats for hookers and blackjack. What kind of inn is complete without hookers and blackjack? Am I seducing her? *rolls dice* Yes. Sweet -Next day- Since I seduced her, I don't have to pay, right? Actually, you failed your insight check. She stole your wallet. Crap |
| #18sirkaikillahJul 29, 2009 14:41:25 | If by weapon speed you mean how good it is, its already there under Proficiency I think he means; as in weapon speed factor that you add to an initiative roll. Remember rolling a twelve sided die for initiative and wanting to roll low? |
| #19HerrozerroJul 29, 2009 14:46:47 | I think he means; Ah, i see. I never really got that. initiative is initiative. |
| #20Black_Knight999Jul 29, 2009 14:48:14 | I want to see a feat for small characters that allows them to use weapons normally. At the moment, small characters suck for pretty much any melee class other than rogue. Also, I'd love to see goblins and orcs as PCs in one of the Player's Handbooks. A feat for boosting a warlock's curse dice to d8 would be nice too (how come rangers and rogues already have this since the first PHB, and yet warlocks miss out?) |
| #21manionJul 29, 2009 14:49:24 | I want a Warlock epic destiny that's a cousin to the Dark Wanderer. You die and go to the Hells. But due to cunning and connections, you manage to escape. |
| #22arderkragJul 29, 2009 14:51:17 | Paladin war horse. Maybe they can make cavalier build, similar to the beast companion rules for a ranger. Yes, please! |
| #23HerrozerroJul 29, 2009 15:10:11 | I want to see a feat for small characters that allows them to use weapons normally. At the moment, small characters suck for pretty much any melee class other than rogue. Well, Versatile = Two handed (IE smaller two handed weapons) |
| #24blowfishJul 31, 2009 12:28:26 | Well, Versatile = Two handed (IE smaller two handed weapons) I believe the official ruling was that they aren't considered two-handed weapons for things like power attack or Barbarian powers, even though small characters have to wield them two-handed. Yeah, total BS. More weapons with the small property, specifically two-handed melee weapons, would greatly reduce this problem. |
| #25old_dogAug 05, 2009 22:56:36 | More weapons with the small property, specifically two-handed melee weapons, would greatly reduce this problem. There is a small 2-handed weapon in the Eberron Player's Guide. It is the Talenta Sharrash. Heavy Blade,Polearm, High Crit, Small, 1d8 and +3 proficiency. |
| #26Silver_BlazeAug 05, 2009 23:08:44 | I want to see a feat for small characters that allows them to use weapons normally. At the moment, small characters suck for pretty much any melee class other than rogue. I would also like to see this. Stop punishing Small characters, yet giving NO benefits for being small. Perhaps a feat that gives them a bonus to defenses against creatures larger than them too (perhaps it already exists). I love small races, but 4e seems to make them undesirable. I would also like to second the Paladin Mount thing. We already have special mounts, can we have a build or PP that focuses on using them? |
| #27Cyber-DaveAug 05, 2009 23:17:20 | Yea, small weapons wielding characters REALLY do need a boost. I don't mind dealing less damage with my halfling ranger/barbarian, but give me something significant to make up for it! |
