April and Beyond 2010 features a glimps at next month's D&Di magazines (including a new Primordial in Dungeon), HS1 The Slaying Stone, The Player's Strategy Guide, a monster from Monster Manual 3 (the Catoblepas), a PPath power, fluff material, and a magic item from Player's Handbook Races: Tieflings, some tiles from Dungeon Tiles: Deserts of Athas, and miniatures from the Star Wars: Masters of the Force set for that game!

Apr 04, 2010 23:55:30 We're getting new Revenent stuff next month. Cool. But ... uh ... what the hell happened to the promised third Assassin build that we were told about back in like ... September or October that was promised for the early part of this year? The early part that is pretty much over?

And I'll second the request for promised assassin goodness. I have an assassin player in my campaign and I'm sure she'd be happy to have more options for her character. Right now, assassins need more support.

Apr 05, 2010 9:20:35 The excerpt power from the Tiefling book is WIS or CHA vs. defense. Does that mean that the Tieflings are going to be +Int and +Wis/Cha ?

Apr 05, 2010 11:17:35 that was my first thought too then realised the power stands a chance at belonging to a divine class where wisdom is also a prime stat, so could go either way.

Personally went ouch upon seeing the raven queen's presence trait on the Catoblepas Harbinger, now that is going to cause worries for anyone dying, certainly not a monster to double up on in an encounter even if it would be fun seeing the panic on PCs faces.

Apr 05, 2010 13:43:36 Balcoth, the Groaning King, excites me. From his description, only a little refluffing and maybe a simple power switch will allow me to use him as the most important Primordial in my game setting (Bendigeidfran, the Headless Raven King).

Apr 05, 2010 14:16:23 Deserts of Athas looks like everything I ever wanted it (or expected it) to be. I'm kind of sad they didn't put it out back when I was more into StarWars Miniatures - it looks like it would have been much appreciated over there.

I welcome more 3D elements, but while Harrowing Halls was sufficient for basically anything I ever need with only 2 sets, I wonder if I'll want more than 2 of Deserts to "cover my bases".

For Corellon's sake, I hope no. That doesn't fit neither mechanically (with the classes Tiefling are usually associated with... Warlock being the foremost) nor tematically. Tieflings are NOT known for being very wise (they made a deal with devils some time ago, in case you're wondering).

Apr 06, 2010 21:02:51 It's a Divine power. They probably inserted Wis there because you're more than likely to use either Wisdom or Charisma. No mention of Intelligence is made in the power, so it's about Divine stuff, not Tiefling stuff.
