| #1blueznlAug 04, 2010 6:52:53 | (Pretty sure I got the product names wrong, but I hope it's still 'understandable' :-) Looking at the essentials product line, and after looking at some questions on the web I'm a little puzzled about the contents of the _Essentials: Dungeon Master's Kit_... will it contain the _Essentials: Rules Compendium_ as well, or did I just lose it? :-) |
| #2yaldabaothAug 04, 2010 6:55:58 | No. It will not include it. A Panelist at DDXP (IIRC) stated that it would. That was quickly clarified that it would NOT be the case. |
| #3blueznlAug 04, 2010 10:55:28 | ... which, in turn, brings up the question what then would be the difference(s)? Looking at the page count, mentioned in some places (though I haven't got a clue how reliable those counts would be, obviously :-)) there is the risk of a huge overlap... I wonder how many duplicate material I will end up with when I own... - PHB1 and PHB2 - DMG - MM - Essentials starter kit - Essentials (?) Rules Compendium - Essentials Game Master's Kit - Essentals Heroes (?) And even though I rarely play, I'll probably buy them all, sigh... A fool and his money... |

GM kit probably duplicates a bit of the DMG, but it comes with maps/tokens and such. The rules compendium is a true duplicut. Since it contains the (updated) rules from the PHB/DMG/MM. Essential Heros are all new classes, so no duplication there. Also you'll have alot of dice. |
