| #1NyronusAug 10, 2009 21:15:46 | I have been doing a lot of snooping around lately what with the hubbub about the new campaign setting. I recently uncovered, after several rounds bribery the name of the new setting. This information cost a pretty penny. WotC really went out of there way with this setting, trying to please both classic fans and newcomers alike. It is, quiet possibly, the apotheosis of everything DnD and I for one was utterly floored when I found out what it would be. It has something for everyone and I feel that no will ultimately be disappointed. The new setting is. *drum roll!* ... .. . Hollowhawk Darkkalimar Birthrightscape Gammajammerloft! Yes, it came as a shock to me too! My informant tells me that this medieval noble-centric post-apocalyptic age of exploration space opera classic fantasy setting will be the be all end all of DnD. Player characters, who are nobles, will get to control space ships and lead armies of knights and cyborgs in an effort to save the Free City from the evil life eating Dragon Kings, all wrapped up in a victorian swashbuckling gothic horror aesthetic! This is more unconfirmed here-say, but I am told the player’s guide will have the much sought after martial controller, the Juggler! I also hear that one of the races will be the return of a fan favorite. My sources tell me it will be the house-cat, but not much can be said as to wether this is true or not. I can honestly say that I am already hyped about this setting and can’t wait for its official release next year! |
| #2Black_Knight999Aug 10, 2009 21:42:13 | LMAO! I would definitely buy that setting. :D |
| #3DragoncatAug 10, 2009 21:50:50 | There's no way they would make PC stats on a race as unbalanced as a house-cat! Why, they don't even need a party, they can take a first level human encounter solo! |

| #8GrazelAug 11, 2009 0:09:34 | Yay I can recreate my first character, a house-cat juggler from a royal family who hunts down mutants in a seized Illithid Nautilis ship. |

| #11the_fanAug 11, 2009 3:48:29 | I see speculation has reached the final stage. Mission complete. |
| #12CelticPaladinAug 11, 2009 6:54:49 | Alright, we've had our laughs. Now please move this over ---------------> to the Off-Topic Tavern since it doesn't deal with any real speculation, but rather satire. |
| #13snarls_at_fleasAug 11, 2009 8:03:05 | OP is definetly right. Just look at Editorial Calendar There is Stormcrow Tor article tomorrow - sounds like a spaceship name for me! |

| #20Duke5150Aug 13, 2009 22:32:18 | well just so you know you officialy have 3 guys hopes up now... Darksun darksun darksun! Dragonkings, avangions, feral halflings and beardless dwarves! Tastes great, less filling.;) [edit] The ONLY reason they have to wait to release DS is the elemental power source. Thats it. We will have the arcane, primal and psionic power souces and the shadow isn't far off. The Elemental source is the ONLY thing that makes me doubt DS. But the next setting will include if not focus heavily on psionics. There is a limited number of settings that do that. If we use basic logic, two of the most popular settings are already released. EB and FR. Three popular settings have been eaten by the core rules. PS, RL, SJ. Which leaves oldschool classics, completely new settings and two other popular settings. DS and DL. I'm 1050% sure its not DL. I'm almost 100% sure its not greyhawk or any other classic setting. I'm not so sure about a new setting. But very little has even hinted as a new setting and we have a lot of nods to darksun. I'm putting my money on DS as next years setting. But again, a few things give me small doubt. #1, we havnt heard of any DS flavored items in the AV2 yet. #2, we don't have the elemental power source yet and probably won't until 2011. #3, the monster manuals have a serious lack of anything remotely DS in them. But I hold onto hope and will be just as bummed as all the other DS fans should I be wrong. |
| #21LordDreadmanAug 14, 2009 0:37:12 | Darksun darksun darksun! Dragonkings, avangions, feral halflings and beardless dwarves! Tastes great, less filling.;) Eberron has to wait for Psionics. Why shouldn't Dark Sun wait for Elemental? (In other words, there IS hope.) Sincerely, Lord Dreadman |
| #22Janx_14Aug 14, 2009 1:15:18 | Yeah, that oddly enough sounds alot like warhammer, though possibly with more magic and less technology (i may have missed something in there). Regardless, that is a setting i'd buy! |
| #23ProinAug 14, 2009 2:58:01 | Gammajammerloft. this++ |
| #24thescalesoffateAug 14, 2009 3:06:17 | I love that some people couldn't resist trying to turn this funny little thread into another "No, but, seriously guys, it's obviously going to be Darksun, duh" thread. Take it to one of the other zillion DS threads, hmm? In other news, I'm incredibly excited about the Housecat's Horrendous Hairball racial power. I kidnapped a WOTC employee and forced him to reveal it to me. It's an at-will minor action close burst 10 that only targets enemies and deals 6d6 damage and immobilizes. It's sweet. |

Take it to one of the other zillion DS threads, hmm? I dunno, seems a little underpowered considering the housecat's abilities in previous editions. |
