#4 undeadscottsman Feb 02, 2011 12:16:45	Legend of Drizzt is the third game in the "D&D Adventure System Cooperative Boardgame" series, and is compatible with the previous two games (Castle Ravenloft and Wrath of Ashardalon.)  The only thing I've heard about it was in a recording of the product seminar at DDXP, which said it would have the first competative adventure for the system. Salvatore is the biggest hack in fiction. I'm so sick of the un-killable drow ranger and his buddy the mage Elmunchkin that has sex with the gods. Who the F cares? Really?   Really, Salvatore is the biggest Hack in Fiction?  All fiction? You realize that means you hold him to be worse than Stephanie Meyer, right? (honestly, after her, I put Tolkein up as the next greatest hack with a typwriter)

Sarcasm aside, if Tolkien is a "hack", then clearly I don't know what that word means... But to get back to the TOPIC at hand (ahum), I'm looking forward to some kind of preview into what "Conquest of Nerath" will actually be like, component- and rule-wise. As for the tidbit about "Legend of Drizzt" making a foray into competitive play (thanks UndeadScottsman), I find the idea intriguing, and am looking forward to all the user-created content that might take a stab at that kind of scenario. W/o his work we might not be playing the game at all? Yes Salvatore is a hack, he hasn't had a new idea in twenty years. Somehow people keep buying his books. Sometimes people want a steak with potatoes and gravy. Sometimes people want cotton candy. Salvatore gives me my cotton candy fix.  I enjoy his work.
