What do you guys hope is in this one?  It's a huge set for extra fun.

I'm hoping to see an Elder Blue Dragon and a new 4E style Fomorian.  I'd also like another uncommon ogre, but that's just me.

Juding by the cover art, there's gonna be a volcanic/ lava dragon as well as a swordwing in the set.

What I hope for

- agree with you on the Elder Blue and wouldn't even mind another Elder Red that looks good
- Elder Silver Dragon
- dwarf and orc ghost (Hammerfast!)
- iconic bad guys like Baphomet
- uncommon fire giant
- torrian (Revenge of the Giants)
- Piranoth (Revenge of the Giants)
- medium sized boar
- dwarves (there can never be too many)

Yeah I'd like to see a new Red Dragon too.  I think they are a bit too rare in the minis sets.  The ones that are out there are cool, but really hard to get unless you buy them individually online.

Yes, more dwarves! More gnomes too! Those two are my favorite humanoid creature races.

I'd like to see some creatures from Gary Gygax's first Monster Manual.  I found it at a used book store and there are some cool monsters in there that I don't think are in any sets yet.

More NPC type creatures would be cool too.  How about a blacksmith, ferrier, tavern keeper, serving wench, king, queen, herald, miller (with flour dust all over him), brewer etc?

I would hope for, even if I will in some cases never use:

Deva
Wilden
Shardmind
Genasi other than ice
Anything else I've missed that's a PC race that doesn't currently have anything at all.

Wait, people want more dragons?  They're solos, and generally final boss ones to boot.  With all of the dragons printed so far it seems like they're coming out our ears.  I'd personally like some of the monsters that haven't been represented at all than yet another dragon.

Wait, people want more dragons?

Well dragons are half the name of this game.  As such, there will likely always be people wanting more dragons no matter how many are actually available.  Add to that fact that dragons come in a variety of shapes/colors (20+) across multiple size categories, plus numerous dragon-like creatures, and the result is a rather large quantity of potential minis to be desired.

Most any other huge monster is going to be hit or miss, but dragons are always popular and in demand, hence why there are people asking for a new huge red even though there have already two of them in previous sets. (Aside: personally I think the huge volcanic already seemingly confirmed for this set is a close enough proxy that we don't need a new red in the same set.)

There is also the picture of a dracolich on one of the boxes. That makes two dragons.

I Would'nt mind a dracolich, I definitely dont need anymore Large dragons. I suppose a couple of different Elder's would be alright. Volcanic.... sure. Metallic? YES!! Any mini they want to release that is featured in any of the monsters manuals or Adventure Modules is fine with me! PLEASE!!! I have bought all these products, I am going to make sure I use them. I have gone out and scoured through all of the D&D minis sets that have been released and tried to match the minis to the modules and the Monsters Manuals, "open graves", "Dungeon delves", "Planes", "Above" and "Below's", Dragonomicons etc, and I gotta say I have spent a small fortune! My collection is vast, and if they keep supporting these products I will  continue buy them.

I definitely want to see some PC races as well. A good mix of races, maybe some dual weilding types? I haven't found a really good mini for my Goliath Whirling Barbarian or my Half-Orc full-blade wielding Warden. We could always use some Genasi, Devas, Minotaurs, Shifters, Half-Orcs, Goliath's.... need I go on? We need this stuff now too! Because by the sounds of things they are gonna start releasing tokens! TOKENS? What I want is more minis! NOT TOKENS!

Lords of Madness is the only set this year so far. Last year we had 3 sets. With Dark Sun coming out, I would hope they support that with a line of minis. Believe me I will buy them! Keep the minis coming or I will tell everyone I know to Boycott these "Tokens" and "Essentials" and everything that goes with them! I think I'm not the only one thats ticked off Lords of Madness is the only set being released in 2010.

Okay, now the store I order minis from is telling me that Lords of Madness is cancelled and a different set is coming out in September?? Can someone clarify for me? The WotC catalogue says August 17th for LoM. I'm not pressing the panic button just yet, but it would be nice to know my local store is just mis-informed.

Lords of Madness set is out now. So are the new stat cards made by DDM Guild! There are stat cards for these and every set of pre-painted D&D minis (as well as a chart for converting older minis sets over to equivalent cards) at the website www.ddmguild.com.  These cards, item cards, rules books, scenarios and guild-exclusive maps let you play more than just the RPG with your minis.  Check it out!
