I have purchased the core books and Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide. I've also pre-ordered the FR Players HB and Manual of the Planes (as well as some others, but that's besides the point).

So here is my question... I am wondering if the Manual of the Planes will be out-of-the-box compatible with both the generic D&D and Forgotten Realms pantheons. What I mean is, am I going to have to do a bunch of house rules to make FR and Manual of the Planes play nice together?

From reading bits and pieces from Monsters Manual, DM Guide, and FR Campaign Guide, it looks like it all works the same way... but clearly there are deity differences. Will this book cover the dominions of all deities? or just generic D&D deities?

What do you guys think?

Just completely baseless speculation, but I think so-Wizards has stated previously that it want's all of it's books to be usable for every campaign setting. At the very least, there will probably be a sidebar detailing the environs and inhabitants of the planes of Faerun and likely another one detailing deities.

Given that they shoehorned the Forgotten Realms cosmology into the standard 4E model of the planes, it should work fairly well.

Setting specific elements (such as dieties) might not be touched on, but any general game elements should translate freely.
