When are you guys coming out with Monster Cards?

How even more fun it would be to run the 4th edition if I had the stats of the monsters just like in the MM on a card.

I could write up an adventure and get my cards and start playing in minutes!

If any of you think this is a good idea please let WotC know.

Dude, omg, no way this just in: There are the things called Note Cards, they were literally just invented today, but you can get them at Wallmart, and you can write anything you want on them.

Copy from MM, paste into Word (or whatever app you prefer), and print...instant Monster Cards. I now have almost every one from the MM, and dozens of home-brew ones both saved and printed.

EDIT: As an aside, what of the monsters (like eye tyrant, some of the ancient dragons, etc.) that have a half-page of text for their stats? How would a standard card-sized format handle this? Number them 1 and 2?

Ravinsild: You are a paragon of intellectual fortitude. Your response added so much to my post I and all others that have read it shall be forever amazed at your insight, you tact, and the mighty intelligence that you must possess. I thank you and everyone else thanks you for your edifying comments. For most likely your only gratification you may have in your sad life is witty comments upon message boards.

WotC already produces such cards, Eldrad. When you buy D&D-brand miniatures, they come with cards that have the minis game stats on one side and the RPG game stats on the other side.

I doubt they will start selling those cards as separate products, however. WotC would much rather sell you their miniatures!

Cards are cheaper to make and make more profit.

Or, you can do what I do and get them free here;

The column labeled 'RPG Stat Cards' have 4th Ed Stats. Some of them are even monsters yet to see print in a book, as far as I know.

I'd make monster cards in a bigger size. Not too big, but so that most monsters easily fit.
Super-Big Statblocks? Sell them in a separate pack as bigger cards even. I'm a fan of official props, which is why I own a few Dungeon Tiles even though we don't really use them.

I'd buy Dungeon Tiles if they were actually Dungeon Hexes.

Since I don't buy Miniatures, I didn't know about that download page. Previously, I was just scanning then Cut+Paste onto note cards. I like removing steps.

The only problem with DDM mini cards:
They quite often do NOT match the monsters as presented in the MM.

Also: There are many such DDM monsters that are not in the MM. If the OP wants the monster stats verbatim from the MM monsters, he has little choice but to copy/paste/print, or wait and see if WotC makes their own for sale.

For every adventure I make/run, I make monster cards for each one. Many of them are right out of the MM, but a large portion are all-new monsters, or different variants on existing ones.

After printing them and using them for the adventures, I file them in a recipe-card box alphabetically for easy future-use.

This is what I do as well. I use 67# paper stock for them, which adds a little durability. With WOTC's new policy on PDFs, though, it might not be a viable option for a lot of people, nor for me once MM2 comes out.

It would be cool, sorta like the power cards they do (I have preordered 2 of each deck for me and a freind ^^ )

The annoying thing about copying stats is that it takes WAY too long ><

I should invest in a printer... they basically beg you to buy those nowadays.
