| #1BelorinMar 30, 2009 16:43:50 | What monsters do ya think will be covered? My list Demogorgon of course, he's on the cover! One of the new metallic dragons Adamantine or Iron the Archangel template the Djinn the Frost giant the Centaur the Barghest the Pennaggolan or... Bel |
| #2darkless_oneMar 30, 2009 17:00:22 | the Archangel template Templates do not appear in Monster Manuals. |
| #3doctorhookMar 30, 2009 17:23:30 | Templates do not appear in Monster Manuals. Strictly speaking, you're right. However, the GSL-doodad hinted that the "Archangel" template might appear as a part of the Angel entry in MM2, IIRC. Take that as you will... |
| #4MechaliburMar 30, 2009 18:02:17 | Templates do not appear in Monster Manuals. That's a pretty general statement seeing as we've only had one Monster Manual for this edition so far ;) |
| #5tiwaztyrsfistMar 30, 2009 18:14:11 | Giant Space Hampster! |
| #6dontmazemebroMar 30, 2009 18:47:57 | Since angels can be of any alignment now, I'd love to see solars and planetars statted out. A dark solar would make a great epic tier villain. |
| #7InaubryynMar 30, 2009 19:12:42 | I don't see why all of the basic metallics wouldn't be in the MMII. All of the basic chromatics are. |
| #8wizardmonMar 30, 2009 20:20:08 | I don't see why all of the basic metallics wouldn't be in the MMII. All of the basic chromatics are. The "new" chromatics are actually in the Draconomicon. It makes me wonder whether our Iron and Adamantine dragons are not going to be "real" or "secondary." And that makes me sad, because the metals Brass and Bronze are both alloys... |
| #9shadow_weaverMar 30, 2009 21:55:55 | Giant Owl. I was disappointed when the Paladin bought a hippogriff mount and there was no parallel for my Ranger. |
| #10vebrandssonMar 30, 2009 22:01:23 | Giant Space Hampster! Lmao those were epic, I'd love to see them back (goes to homebrew them) But seriously given that last month (or well for a few more hours the beginning of this month) they put out some images of some of the monster manual 2 creatures (The bottom of this link for those who can't find it). I expect to see those in exerpts, from the images I see centaurs which will be nice to have back, rust monsters, always epic, the xorn, got to love them, some sort of beholder, there are just too many, frost giants (I think), and I don't know about the other, some kind of elemental tempest or something is my best guess. I expect they will be the first exerpts to be honest. |

| #12BelorinMar 30, 2009 22:41:09 | Okay, not sure what the beholder might be, but the elemental looking thing is a Djinn, followed by a Xorn, Rust Monster, Centaur and Frost giants. Wow! Bel |
| #13doctorhookMar 31, 2009 0:02:55 | Since angels can be of any alignment now, I'd love to see solars and planetars statted out. A dark solar would make a great epic tier villain. Very cool idea! However, I think that Solars and Planetars might actually be better suited as Deva "Kings/Queens" than as 4E Angels. |
| #14yabathewhatMar 31, 2009 10:19:07 | I'm a big fan of the classic fey. Should pixies fail to make an appearance, I'll be quite disappointed. Would be nice to see the nymph back again too, though I could tolerate their absence if needed. |
| #15vebrandssonMar 31, 2009 10:26:28 | Actually with Metallic dragons all but guaranteed to be in MM2 what would disappoint me the most is to see them changed to unaligned instead of good. |
| #16BelorinMar 31, 2009 12:51:36 | I'm a big fan of the classic fey. Should pixies fail to make an appearance, I'll be quite disappointed. Would be nice to see the nymph back again too, though I could tolerate their absence if needed. The only new fey I could track down in the SRD is an Eladrin, the Coure of Mischief, but it looks like only maybe a third of the monsters got listed there. Bel |
| #17LordArchaonMar 31, 2009 18:56:04 | Aren't you excited to see if centaurs will get a preliminary racial coverage in MM2? I'd love to play a centaur. The only problem I see with it is the space it should occupy. I'd say it would be better if they state you occupy two squares and that if you're fighting with someone, any other fighting against you and facing your back-square would have combat-advantage even if not actually flanking. Basically, easier to set-up flanks against you. This could actually be, like small size, a penalty allowing for more interesting racial bonuses. Think about the speed of a centaur during a charge... |
| #18JohnLynchMar 31, 2009 19:18:28 | Aren't you excited to see if centaurs will get a preliminary racial coverage in MM2? The Centaur size is exactly why I'm expecting them not to get racial coverage in MM2. |
| #19LordArchaonApr 01, 2009 7:35:24 | The Centaur size is exactly why I'm expecting them not to get racial coverage in MM2. Hey they can't stop at each difficulty like this... |
| #20Tharag_BoccApr 01, 2009 8:55:16 | The Centaur size is exactly why I'm expecting them not to get racial coverage in MM2. Remember, monster races exist primarily so DMs can use them to make NPCs. The fact that players can use monster races to create PCs, with DM permission, is no reason to deny the DM useful tools. If in the process a few groups decide to try out such races as PCs and then report their experience here on the message boards, WotC will have useful feedback to determine if/how such races can be made balanced for later inclusion as a full PC race. As such there are some very good reasons to include racial stats for centaurs, and no major downside. I wouldn't mind having racial entires for ogres and lizardfolk as well. |

| #24LordArchaonApr 01, 2009 10:18:59 | I'm curious if the Coure of Mischief is size tiny with wings, or medium like all other Eladrin. Maybe small, mid-term... But the most logic thing would be medium with alternate tiny form. |
