| #1MarkAtkinsonSep 18, 2010 9:38:44 | I have just recieved this e-mail from Amazon.co.uk - Hello, Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date: Wizards Rpg Team "Dungeon Tiles Master Set - the Dungeon: A 4th Edition D&d Accessory ("Dungeons & Dragons" Accessory)" Estimated arrival date: December 29 2010 - December 31 2010 Forgive me if I'm wrong but wasn't this product already delayed from it's original June/July release date. |
| #2MalakLightfootSep 18, 2010 10:05:27 | I have just recieved this e-mail from Amazon.co.uk - The release date, as I recall, was September as this is an Essentials product. My FLGS has it, so it seems the problem is with Amazon's distribution network, and not Wizards. |
| #3XunValDorl_of_HouseKilsekSep 18, 2010 12:05:45 | The boxset is already out. |
| #4joni-sanSep 18, 2010 12:36:13 | Yeah, Amazon has a problem with RPG products from what I understand. |
| #5DuskweaverSep 18, 2010 13:36:25 | It's not just Amazon. Neither Orc's Nest nor IGUK have any of the Dungeon Tiles Master Sets listed. |
| #6MarkAtkinsonSep 18, 2010 15:00:02 | It's not just Amazon. Neither Orc's Nest nor IGUK have any of the Dungeon Tiles Master Sets listed. Does that mean the slow boat from China -> Europe got lost again? I think we just live on the wrong side of the Atlantic. |
| #7IskandrSep 19, 2010 22:01:38 | It just means Amazon didn't get enough to fulfill orders. Too bad, there are like 10 of these sitting at my FLGS as I type this... might want to find a local shop if you want it soon! |
| #8DuskweaverSep 20, 2010 9:06:23 | It just means Amazon didn't get enough to fulfill orders. Except that it's not just Amazon, as I already said. Too bad, there are like 10 of these sitting at my FLGS as I type this... might want to find a local shop if you want it soon! The UK is not particularly well served with FLGSs. There are none anywhere near where I live. |
| #9MarkAtkinsonSep 20, 2010 12:29:28 | The Esdevium new releases PDF for this week has HotFL, Rules Compendium, Lords of Madness and the dice set but doesn't mention the Dungeon Tiles. It would seem to be a WotC problem rather than an Amazon one. @ Iskandr Over in the US you can get D&D stuff from FLGSs or even Wal-Mart. That isn't the case over here. Even our larger book chains like Waterstones don't carry D&D books in stock and even fewer places stock minis. My "local" FLGS is, as Duskweaver mentioned, Orcs Nest. It's in central London, 2 1/2 hours from where I live. So we literally HAVE to get our D&D supplies on Amazon. |
| #10peterthecynicSep 20, 2010 14:41:26 | I agree with Mark , I don't have a local FLGS anywhere near and often end up having to order from Amazon UK. It's a depressing point that at times it's can be as quick and almost as cheap to order from the US. Has anyone managed to find the Monster Vault on Amazon UK to pre order? Because I've had no luck so far. |
| #11MarkAtkinsonSep 20, 2010 17:06:24 |
I've tried searching several times on Amazon & IGUK but haven't found it yet. I think we're going to have to accept getting essentials products at least a month or two after release. Edit - Bookdepository has it has it for pre order. Thanks again Nightwhisper. ![]() |
| #12ceiling90Sep 20, 2010 17:12:47 | Maybe it's like videogames, somehow or another you guys just get it late. Amazon US already shipped my Heroes of Fallen Lands, so it appears on my doorstep day of release. Which sucks. You could always order it from Amazon US... but I think the shipping fees would outweigh the wait time. Unless you really really needed now? |
| #13MarkAtkinsonSep 20, 2010 17:29:40 | We've always had a delay of a couple of days with D&D products, (I think the last book I got on day of release was PHB2) but at the moment it is getting worse with each new product released. There is a 3 month delay on the Dungeon tiles also I pre ordered the Red Box for my daughter. The release date has been changed 3 times and she still hasn't got it. Maybe I should pre order the DM Kit so she has it in time for xmas!! It's just becoming a little bit frustrating. |
| #14nightwhisperSep 21, 2010 3:56:34 | You could try bookdepository. I just got my Heroes of the Fallen Lands in the mail, and I live in Finland of all places. |
| #15MarkAtkinsonSep 21, 2010 5:09:56 | You could try bookdepository. I just got my Heroes of the Fallen Lands in the mail, and I live in Finland of all places. Thanks. I don't know why I did think of them before. |
| #16DuskweaverSep 21, 2010 6:10:45 | Ah yes, I'd forgotten about them too. They do indeed have the DT Master Set for sale. And their other Essentials products are cheaper than Amazon lists them for as well (and they say they can dispatch them in 48 hours, rather than Amazon's current estimate of "1 to 3 weeks"). Thanks, Nightwhisper! ![]() |
| #17MarkAtkinsonSep 21, 2010 7:18:15 | I just got an e-mail from Amazon saying the Red Box has finally shipped but I cancelled all my other pre orders with them and ordered the tiles, DM Kit and Monster Vault from book Depository. Here's hopeing they're more reliable. |
| #18drorainSep 22, 2010 7:19:41 | Yah, amazon has to many delayed products. On a side note, I picked this up at the local store and I will say it's a nice tile set, might buy another and let's talk about....mega dungeon! |
| #19hunterian7Sep 22, 2010 20:32:20 | Order from Auggies. He ships to the UK and Europe. He sells at a good discount price. Just google Auggies Games. Email him and he will let you know how much the cost is for shipping. He currently has 27 Dungeon Master Tile Sets: the Dungeon. |
| #20ValienSep 22, 2010 22:00:42 | You guys should stop complaining. Try living here in South America. No FLGS stores, Amazon takes forever to deliver (and the fee is horrendous), and the books take somewhere around 6 months - 1 year to hit the main bookstores (the time used for translation). Gods, I miss the time when WotC sold .PDF copies. |
| #21zman123Sep 22, 2010 22:26:14 | I have bought my Dungeon Tiles Master set at Gamers Haven, here in Cleveland Ohio. Unfortunately, they are now out-of-stock on this product. I guess its really popular now, so its going to be hard to get a hold of it. |
| #22admcewenSep 23, 2010 2:20:40 | Well here in the UK I just got this message from Amazon "We regret to inform you that the following items have been delayed as we are still awaiting stock from our suppliers : Mike Mearls "Player's Essentials: Heroes of the Fallen Lands: A 4th Edition D&d Supplement (Dungeons & Dragons)" Estimated arrival date: October 06 2010 - October 12 2010" No suprise there really. ![]() |
| #23MarkAtkinsonSep 25, 2010 4:33:55 | It took them 4 days rather than the stated 48 hours but Book Depository have despatched the Dungeon Tiles. Their prices are the same as Amazon's (some product are actually cheaper) and they have free delivery. Anyone who is experiencing the same problems as me with getting hold of D&D products from Amazon should give them a try. |
| #24DuskweaverSep 25, 2010 4:57:10 | It took them 4 days rather than the stated 48 hours but Book Depository have despatched the Dungeon Tiles. Same here. They dispatched HotFL and the RC within 24 hours of me submitting the order, though, and they both arrived in the post literally ten minutes ago (I ordered all three at the same time). The DTMS dispatched this morning, so I'll presumably get it early next week. Their prices are the same as Amazon's (some product are actually cheaper) and they have free delivery. Anyone who is experiencing the same problems as me with getting hold of D&D products from Amazon should give them a try. Agreed. I am very impressed. Book Depository will be my first choice for buying D&D products from now on. (Heh. I sound like I'm doing advertising for them now, don't I? ) |
