Nov 15, 2009 15:57:26 So, I was thinking about how bad those movies were and then about how bad the old comic movies were before Marvel got it right and pulled themselves out of bankrupsy...

Is there any news about any movies going into production?

Just thinking, because there is more than enough to, say, make at least a trilogy of Drizzt or something along the lines of how X-men was handled. If they stick to the books, don't you all think that they could start a whole franchise? I don't think the DnD association is really a problem, we've all seen people reading forgotten realms or dragon lance books in the airport...
sorry to get side tracked but yea, are there any rumors and do people think these could be marketable?

Dont know much about it. Anyone here check it out? Is it good?

The movie seems its own campaign setting, produced by Fantasy Flight Games, and comes with a playable D&D 4e adventure.

Cool to visualize the flavor of a campaign setting thru the magic of film.

Unless the previews inspire me, I'll never watch another D&D movie again. No way in hell will I spend money on a straight to dvd D&D movie. I'v learned my lesson.

Nov 16, 2009 5:57:06 I would imagine that unless you've got a huge budget, a fantasy TV series is more prferable to a fantasy movie. I'd much rather watch the weekly dungeoneering adventures of a small group of heroes than a tedious 2 hour movie with poor SFX.

Nov 16, 2009 20:15:17 I wouldn't mind a D&D tv show, as long as it isn't as horrible as that seeker show. I swear, I have no idea why bad television shows are so popular. I can deal with swapmeet graphics, but the dialog is torture as is the gradeschool acting.
