Dec 04, 2008 1:14:10 lol Like we didn't see it coming. I mean, they brought Doresain (sic?) out of retirement, shacked him back up with Orcus, and put the both of them in the first Monster Manual. They produced a recent mini of Doresain, and they made a cult of Orcus the enemies in the first published 4E product. I imagine that this association was also behind the one-time intention to produce a Gargantuan Orcus D&D Icon "miniature". I also guess that Orcus' prominence throughout this early stage of 4E is an homage to the fact that ORCUS was the Design & Development codename for the earliest phases of 4E.

Still, confirmation is nice! Soon, it will be time to move on, however; I'm nearly Orcus'd out, and I don't yet know nearly enough about Demogorgon, or some the archdevils like Mephistopheles.

I have an on/off game running the mods (when they come out) and since h2 I have been calling it the Orcus adventure path...but yes Confirmation is nice...

I hope we get another adventure series like this based on MM2 Demogorgon...but then again I am a dreamer

To be honest, I mostly hope that they continue to publish adventure arcs/series, and not just in Dungeon; this is an area in which WotC sorely lagged during 3E. I'm really loving running this adventure series so far, and I can't wait for the boxed super-adventure being released next summer. Who the ultimate villain is is a fairly small matter, as far as I'm concerned, just so long as that villain is cool.

WotC, take note: I am much more likely to purchase an adventure series or a super-adventure than I am to purchase an average-length stand-alone adventure, such as FR1: Scepter Tower of Spellguard. I like to buy products which give me a long, cohesive campaign to run, rather than having to try to string disparate plots together on my own. (I prefer to spend my DM prep-time developing material to tailor the game session to my group, rather than tailoring the adventure itself.)
