Hi, Im starting up a campaign in The Nentir Vale (as introduced in the 4e DMG)
Ive purchased the 3 Hero level scenario's
  • H1 Keep on the Shadowfell - lots of handy info about Winterhaven
  • H2 Thunderspire Labyrinth - well its all about Thunderspire
  • H3 Pyramid of Shadows - gives a small scenario in the Winterbole Forest before the heroes head into the Pyramid

What i'm asking about is if WotC will be releasing more substantial info about Nentir Vale in future publications, or even Dungeon / Dragon Magazines?

As a GM I have no problem in making stuff up for the game but if WotC are intending to release more official info then this will make less work for poor old me :D

Specifically looking for info on the other towns (Nenlast, Hammerfast, and Harkenwold) and other marked locations on the map (Temple of Yellow Skulls, The Sword Barrow, Ruins of Fastormel, Kalton Manor)

Many Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think the current run of 4e modules will provide just enough to give you a framework. I had read somewhere that the Nentir Vale was intentionally left open as a playground for DMs, and that there were no plans to fill it in beyond what was needed for the adventure path currently running.

P1 King of the Trollhaunt Warrens is due out next month. I don't know where they plan to put the Warrens, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gave us a bit more inofmration on some of the towns on the map.

Yes Im hoping that the Paragon level scenarios will continue on giving more info about Nentir, was just hoping for a confirmation on that.

I got the impression from H3 that P1 might be set in the Feywild.

Haven't gotten to H3 yet. We're playtesting a few houserules so the game is on hold. I'll read through it, though.

In chapter 9 (pg 196) of the dmg, there is a pretty good breakdown of Fallcrest and the Nentir Vale.

Isn't the Nentir Vale also the one featured in "Red Hand of Doom"?

A good portion of the areas you mentioned are going to be detailed in future adventures. *nod*
