PlayNeverwinter.com has been revealed.  A great sign that Cryptic is still moving forward.

Yeah, Daggerdale is rather abyssmal (My apologies to all other things abyssmal).

We'll see if it pans out.  The Foundry looks cool.  Hopefully they give us more information and bigger screen shots on it.

Well then it's good that I didn't suggest that you, or anyone else, buy it (not that it's released yet, anyhow).

Noone ever said anything about p2p. It isn't an mmorpg. It's more like the original neverwinter was.

It's set in Forgotten Realms. Or do you mean PoL? It wouldn't be Neverwinter then. :P

Read the FAQ. It doesn't say it's subscription play but it suggests they might go that route.

If stating that a pricing model has not been decided as of yet equates to suggesting that they might go that route, then yes, they suggested it.  But no, they haven't suggested any pricing model.

It is rather doubtful that they do, unless they offer a premium service for hosting professional and/or community modules on high performance servers.

I don't mind that there are sewer levels, but they say that's where the majority of the game takes place.  These are the same guys that designed the CoH sewer levels: no thanks.

I'm not convinced the existence of this site means the game is actually going to come out.  When I see a site that has either Cryptic but not Atari, or Atari but not Cryptic, I'll believe it's really happening.

It doesn't suggest anything. It says there is no pricing set yet. That probably refers more to what the game itself will cost. There will be no monthly fee, as it isn't an mmo. If there are, it will probably be for rental of dedicated servers or something.

The success of the game will have nothing to do with adventures provided by Cryptic.  Instead, its success will be defined by the power and usability of the tools that the community will be able to create modules with.

Are they going to completely skip on a single-player campaign ?

I sure hope so. I enjoy co-op in these types of games much more. RPG's are less fun alone, imo.

Whereas I'm the kind of person that plays MMOGs alone.  I hope they don't skip out on single player.  Then again if they do, I can ignore the game.

I'm sorry, but I can't take a Twenty Foot high spider colored like a clown and covered in skulls seriously.

Its like something Bozo's twelve year old kid would draw if he was trying to be scary. Either that or any kid who just watched IT, but that's another story.

Sure, if you just want to focus on the spider (which could very easily be reskinned before live)...  but the skeletal archer is damn impressive, as is his surroundings.

This is awfully impressive, too.

Yeah, the real question though is it from a FMV or actual in game graphics...

Well they can make anything look good in an FMV. Its created on a supercomputer over the course of months for a short 30 minute video or whatever...

The actual game play though has to work on modern hardware of personal computers...

Yeah, most people know the difference between video and actual game play, even though no one appears to be claiming that it was one or the other to begin with.  It's been that way for years and years and years.  But thanks for that lesson nonetheless.

From your statement it sounded like you didn't realize the difference. Most of what we see in video game commercials is FMV material that they want to showcase, rather than actual gameplay which is why I'm wary of videos that don't explicitely label FMV and in-game material...

From my statement, the only real accurate determination that can be made is that I like the artwork from the shots I provided.  I never even came close to implying that they were game play shots or that I was trying to distinguish anything. If I didn't know the difference, I would have asked. You guessed, and guessed incorrectly. No big deal.
