| #1mrpopstarSep 01, 2011 19:29:02 | New article slated for Dragon #403, Gond's Way: Artificers of the Realms, promises new powers and feats for the long ignored class. I'm surprised we haven't seen an abundance of speculation or excitement about this. ![]() Where's all those Artificer lovers at? |
| #2Sea-EnvySep 01, 2011 19:37:21 | Nice, can't wait. |
| #3mrpopstarSep 01, 2011 19:38:19 | Nice, can't wait. I think it's especially cool how fitting the Gond association in the Realms is for Artificers. ![]() |
| #4TimmehSep 01, 2011 19:46:41 | I'm hoping it's good. I don't recognize the person's name; but I'll certainly want to see it when it comes out. |

| #7TimmehSep 02, 2011 10:16:10 | A new weapon at-will that doesn't boost attack or damage, a feat that gives proficency in a melee weapliment, and something that makes it easier to get combat advantage/a bonus to attack when you're adjacent to many allies. And of course, Melee Weapon Daily Powers. Though, I admit, most of the things I want for the Artificer requires a red pen and control over WoTC's errata. |
| #8mrsakeSep 02, 2011 11:40:58 | Some way to swap some of their less than useful class features for Hide Armor prof so Artificers aren't so behind the AC curve for a Leader class. A Healing Infusion that uses INT for it's bonus healing/effect. (Or a band-aid feat that will do the same) A Ranged Basic Attack At-Will. Actually, I'd rather they just slap a "Can be used as a basic attack" line on Aggravating Force and be done with it, but I've long since given up hope of ever seeing an int based arcane at will that can be used as a MBA. |
| #9PazuSep 02, 2011 12:35:35 | Wishlist for artificers? Aside from the obvious (more power choices), I'd be interested in: - a few new options for weapliments. I think bringing back the staff sling (or something similar) would fit the artificer well--usable as a melee weapon, ranged weapon, and implement, and you can use it to throw alchemical concoctions. - maybe a few options for swapping class features, which could tie into... - a few new build options. I don't really "get" the warrior forge build from Dragon. Some kind of a doll-mage build would be cool. I would also suggest alchemist, but I think the alchemist theme has got that one pretty well covered. - more lower-level healing powers. Seems strange to me that the first artificer power with a "healing" keyword (aside from Healing Infusion) doesn't appear until level 6. This last item also relates to a more niche idea of mine (which may not fit the designers' conception of the class): a chirurgeon/physicker artificer build, which could fill the "robes & staff" healer archetype (and would shift design burden off the cleric, which the designers seem to prefer as a beatstick-healer anyway). BTW, I'm not very familiar with FR lore. Who is Gond? |

| #14FearOfTheDarkSep 09, 2011 21:11:31 | I might have to get another monthly subscription just for this. The Artificer is my favorite class! However, I DM more than I play, so I might just hold off until all the Feywild stuff is released (I'm so stoked for this...I loved the Prince of Frost article, and the Bramble Queen. I bought Manual of the Planes in January just for more Feywild info, and started a campaign based around it. It will be sweet to see it all fleshed out some more). |
